except for the fact that everything thats been found has been in the ring, which gasp GF released to players, even if poorly documented. meaning its the content in the game already there. the "code dessemination" which figuring the features isnt the ring isnt, because you have no need to de-compile anything (lua and the like).

But anyways, as Androbia said, A feature is being exploited. Problem is, as far as i know, the one of the culprits already is perma banned, and they came back anyways.

The company is not "non-existant", just bankrupt. The EULA [ Edit: And CoC ] is still in effect, as you have been told repeatedly. If/when we get new owners, the agreement will be transferred to them.

As a more general statement to everyone, if you see anyone using any exploits, take a screenshot and email them to support-ee@ryzom.com and send in a ticket. If you have a screenshot but can't/don't want to get ingame to send a ticket - send the screenshot to support-ee and PM myself and Androbia here on the forums.

This statement extracted from the EULA superseeds any and all statements ingame, This is accepted by every player when they log into the game and those players that either knowingly or unknowingly break this condition of the EULA can expect that if i or any member of my staff recieve irrefutable proof that they have indeed broken this condition they will be banned!
Simple as that, there will be no argument and most certainly there will be no reprieve.

Currently as you are all aware there is no developement team which makes gathering such information very difficult, I certainly am aware that this "feature" is being exploited by a small number of players and am mostly aware of those involved in this exploitation. But please also be aware that allthough they may consider they have gotten away with it to date indeed they have not.

It has been said at various times in this post that use of this bug is not in fact an exploit, Please allow me to clarify that point.

An exploit is defined as the use of a feature or bug to gain advantage over and above another player or use of a bug to gain advantage where there would not under normal circumstances exist such oppertunity.

Ladies and Gentlemen, It doesn't matter to me what fancy words you use to describe what you are doing one simple fact remains: "You are exploiting". or more simply put "you are cheating"

Actually If I were to utilize every undocumented features hidden away in the ring, I could have already released my highly dynamic and event intensive scenarios. But whats the point of making entertaining scenarios, if normal as in casual ring developers, cant have the same privilege of releasing something of such a similar nature without the extra know how? *sigh*

The point is we have to utillise our tools that are tangible and easily available to all. Our actions have to co-exist with the rest of the player base as well as developers of the game. If a CSR does claim that its out of bounds then it is.

But who knows? maybe the new owners may document/implement several of the undocumented features with a safeguard, perhaps? ^.^'

In all seriousness (I'm talking in general terms here) cheating in an online game is just plain wrong. Becuase mainly you are getting a one up on people who you respect, people who you call your FRIENDS, people who have chosen to pay money for a game that both of you think is one of the best (otherwise you wouldnt play that). What would possess you to do that? *shurg*

There's nothing wrong with being curious, tinkering about witha bit of code and having a poke around. But there is something wrong with parading around in front of your friends showing off that either you're able to hack sometihng you call beloved, or you know someone who is able to do so.

Analogy (imagine you are 10-13): You REALLY want a toy, you've been saving for weeks on end. You have had to clean cars, do extra chorse and even take a sunday paperound. But it's ok, becuase you have worked out that in 2 weeks time you will be able to get the toy! You've told all of your friends that you're saving up for this toy and that you're nearly there. You sleep well that night with a big smile on your face knowing that it wont be long untill you have something so very special to you. The next morning you wake up and go to school only to find that one of your friends, last night begged their dad to buy the toy YOU wanted, below and behold they have the toy. all of your mates are crowded around him as he parades the toy in front of you. Your friend didnt do anything wrong, infact, he ALLOWED to ask his dad for a toy, its what kids do. but it doesnt take away the slightly sick feeling you have knowing that all your effort you put into getting something that was special to you was (mostly) wasted. Sure you will get that toy, one day. with a bit more effort, but it's meaning will be less.

imagine THAT feeling when it comes to NPC LA/MA etc etc.

I dunno, I used to read so many posts where people would say 'Ryzom's community is THE best' but now, i dunno
