I also found a very warm reception and helpful playerbase, even my forum question recieved an almost immediate positive response,

Some complain there is no PvP.......But They don't understand the Monsterplay feature.
Using this I found the PvP system there is excellent,
Monsterplay is the Pvp sytem that takes place away from the 'main' game where players fight over map locations. Of course the new players have low level characters........so you have the option to enter the zone with a high level Sauron/saruman character such as Warg/Spider/Orc (creep). These fight the high level players who enter the zone with their 'normal' characters (Freep).....I spend as much time in the PvP zone as the normal world.

In the game world they are introducing player housing/neighbourhoods in the next patch...there you can purchase and decorate it with items crafted by other players .

The community there is young, but full of experinced and passionate gamers who care about their world as much as any other.......
It's a game some love, some dislike....that is always going to happen,
I am one that likes the place, and a a bonus I see players from the old SWG....and Ryzom there

Besides, where else can I grow the best pipeweed available..........

edit - don't feel everyone ignored you in the first three hours Jayney, That is the zone where everyone is concentrating on learning the game mechanics and options.......Even I was too busy with learning the game to talk for most of the first two game sessions. This is the zone where the ONLY people you see are new.

I'm very sad that I can't log on to the server that my buddy Mugendo is on, due to some silly thing about an intervening ocean in RL. What the heck does a RL ocean have to do with it?

meanwhile, several PFers are playing on the Landroval server. (North America) Look for Sasiwen, Sasiel, Jezzer, Pharamos, Pharamor, Pharamond, Nyveah, Tygress, Tyglon, or Tyglet. (ain't we creative?)
Also Lilianrose, Tollbrand, Sulianeth, though they are on temporary hiatus due to account issues.

Still logging in to Ryzom every day, at least for a little while. It is my home.

Closed class systems...closed craft systems...friends so far flung that you will never meet them for months...
I got told today that had I mastered in one craft on LOTRO then I need to loose all those skills in order craft something else.
OK after a few days I met 2 people who were nice, but not one person seeks out new players. Noobs are useless to established players
Ryzom is open and the best thing of all is we depend on new people...we need new players to grow. Not one person is 'too low level'
This is why Ryzom is unique.

GoJ have been trying different games and there are a few possibilities, currently looks like I will be going to Vanguard untill Aion is released nexytt year, if Ryzom does go please feel free to register at http://www.guardiansofjena.com and let us know where you are playeing.

We have various peeps there allready, even if you dont wanna register just leave us a message letting us know what you are playing. Would be nice to hook up with Ryzom peeps in other games when Ryzom dies.

I found that too Brave, when I played WoW. And I /hate/ missions/quests. Uber wont play *cries* But I have a few good friends there, That I wouldnt mind hanging out with.

Other than Ryzom and WoW, I've only ever been able to get into CoV. Thinking about going back to that. I donno

I thought it was OK. Its only a new game, Ryzom didn't have this quality community that fast, it has taken time to build it up, LOTRO hopefully will do that too.

I've your experience too. I'm in Eldar Server (Mithnaras... please, if you are in that server and are from Ryzon contact me, please ), I've been there for little time, but the people is helpful and there is a very good community.

In my mind is a community thet, with years, could be similar to this game community (Only similar... no communit will be so outstanding). But is recent and still not complete. Let's see with time.

Unless nothing else will present it, I think I´ll give this a try
