Oh GREAT!
So the neutrals and non-PvP-ers can go roleplay!
Yeehaa! First we wait 2 weekends with speeches and nothing to do, and when at last episode 2 go life, the people who do not like PvP are told do some more roleplaying?
Oh come, on Xavier, we have been almost doing nothing but roleplay since release!

Yes we noted it has been revamped!
But did you have to build all content around it?
You might not have noticed, but the minority of the shard does favour PvP or FvF...

Of course, we won't add major features (Machieltje, mount combats would certainly be cool, but that's a whole new feature you're asking for, not tuning), but if there are things we can do to improve the experience, we'll work on it.
Combat mounts have been suggested when the mounts were released...
More then once, I am sure of that!

This "new and improved" PvP system has managed to break up one of the best (if not the best) communities any MMO has ever seen and no ammount of bandaid is gonna fix that....
Yup, I totally agree with that!
Check all comments on the Saga of Ryzom. Besides nice graphics and good CSR, the NICE community IS ALWAYS mentioned.
A lot of players stay because of this. Not because of the content or the graphics or whatever. They stay because the community ROCKS!
Keep continuing your revamp and you will lose that completely!
Is that what you want??

Xavier.
It is a whole new feature and that is exactly what I've been waiting for since release new features but it seems that if you don't like PvP you have no right to those as all new features seemed to be geared towards PvP
So my next question would be will there be any new features that do not require me to engage in PvP and how many years will I have to wait for those? It's been over a year now and the only new features that have been implemented in that time are mounts and merchants and I think both of those were supposed to be in the game at launch...

I feel compelled to defend my favorite foraging area here. Nexus has a fauna that's composed of more than few kitin here and there, material deposits scattered all over instead of centered around the middle, safe routes and places packed with predators, it has landscape, bandits, tribes, named creatures. I enjoyed exploring Nexus when I first got there, finding the tribe camps, tracking down the materials, learning the safe routes around and which places to avoid. I had hoped the new lands would be like that.
Nexus, even though being a PvP area with kami and karavan altars at opposite sides of a central hill area, still feels to me as if it is part of the living, natural world of Atys. Aelius Dunes doesn't. It's an area that looks as if it came right out of a game of Team Fortress. It's not a natural region that the Kami and Karavan set up base camps in, it's an area that was artificially shaped around those camps. A huge arena made for the sole purpose of supporting a war, with landscape, kitins and materials all placed in appropriate locations.

It will take time to figure out what's the best options in PvP; the first evening, everyone rushes the new land and switch to berserk mode; it should change in the upcoming days and weeks. ---Xavier.
A very few meleers such as Mioette were running around and they seemed to cut me down effectively. Possibly more range was used than melee in my view. However, nukers predominated. I healed almost exclusively because on the one occasion that I ran out with heavy armor on, I found myself alone surrounded by about thirty dead allies and felt rather stupid in my helmet. Being able to switch from nuke to heal instantly is just too great of an advantage. Perhaps better tactics and organization which better integrate melee will develop in the coming days.

Just wanted to post a quick note about that, to let you guys know your comments and both positive or negative feelings about the recent & upcoming changes aren't being ignored.

Xavier.
Sorry to be defiant, but i would probably like to continue playing.
Any chance to get a very small twist in the lore ? One short sentence from Kami like:"we decided to ask you stop killing others, just keep on building our temple please"
I dont care how othere people interprete this sentence and if its neccessary to kill to optain those mats. I am also able to keep out of the new zones if i dont like to be part of it but i would appreceate this small sentence to solve my moral conflict.
Thank you for reading !

Word. Personally I don't do PvP, not my cup of tea. Nor does half of my Guild... But the other half of the Guild, the one that likes PvP, was having a lot of fun yesterday.

Give it a couple weeks, see where it plays into and around your game style. If you choose to avoid FvF/PvP/GvG zones, that doesn't make them bad or imposing on you. If you choose to seek the rewards found in them (Honor Points etc.), you have also chosen to take the risks in getitng them. Neither faction can allow for the other to win and cause that massive change in their quality of life on Atys.
Right now you don't even know how much you don't know... The sky isn't falling... but the ground is desert.
Agree, specially with the desert part. Hopefully they're going to add other terrains as the even progress.
