Oh grim, I bet you're so confused. Maybe you can turn to the dark-side of PvP after all, if rp'ing is involved

Just cuirous, is that avatar you? don't feel obligated to reply to that, I was just wondering.
I do not mean to get sarcastic with you, and if I offended you I am sorry. Even if I didn't offend you I appoligize.
I think we have come to a head on this topic... that there is RP, and players can have an effect... but like you said, there could be more.

Oh I don't mind it so much so long as it serves a purpose, is part of a plotline and further things. Its the random ganking and idiocy that PvP seems to bring with it I can't stand.
I'm often accused of being a 'fanboi' but there is one major thing that does concern me about Ryzom. I think they're pinning too much on the PvP angle and I think it will harm the game.
Either people will, largely, ignore the PvP side of outposts - and with (I suspect) them pinning a lot on outposts that may prove to be a bit of a disaster.
Or... it'll attract the n0b-squad to the game.
I don't think the majority of the current playerbase is that interested in PvP, there's a massive call for a 'third way' from a great groundswell of players who just want peace.
So in regard to that, I'm worried, and very much not a 'fanboi'.

Yes, that's me. Photo taken by my lovely wife
And yes, we can agree then. At least we can seem to have a relatively civilised discussion

I must be in the wrong regions as you, but over the past time since the event took place till now... i havent' heard a peep about the event. I only found out about it this morning as I started reading Raynes' thread.
Not as much reaction in-game as was planned?

Not sure if this point has been made... but in 2 days... this little "event" has stirred much attention on the forum and thus in game.... when's the last thread anyone's seen that have this many people feeling this strongly (either positively or negatively) over such a small thing in such a small span of time.
Personally I feel that:
1. Sucks to lose Raynes...
2. The "event" was run perfectly (other than my motherboard frying 24 hours before the event) ... someone posted some bear and a guy telling a story tid-bit earlier... that was perfect.
3. Emotion regarding this game IS good for it... it shows ... if nothing else.... that people do care about this game... and I think we all need focus on the positives as much as we can.
Just my thoughts,
