ok here is my take on the story- seeing as i was there and was a neutralish party.
I showed up after the server went down and so i saw nothing of what happened beforehand. But when the server came backup it was a good 20-25mins before i headed over to the aen spot. Itachi and myself saw that aen had been pulled to a safe spot cleanly with no additional guards. I joined the team and helped out and itachi ported away. I also noticed that Aen had an almost full Hp bar
After about 5mins i noticed Orochi turned up so i said hi etc *waved* whilst hitting aen. We then noticed Morgaine running right over towards us and stopped right next to us with a kirosta in tow. So we had to kill that also as well as skellop who turned up at the spot seconds later. These things run slower and im told that Morgaine admitted to pulling skellop too. After all why would you pull a kirosta when you could pull Skellop?
So there i was tanking Aen and Skellop trying to beat the s*** into skellop and oh surprise surprise, more infinity guys show up- and lockheart does all he can to pull aen off me.
At this point id like to say that our team of melinoe + me never had a full team wipe, there were always 2 people alive.
so after pulling aen back and forth between me and lockheart. she finally settled on me- yet inifinity had 4 or 5 high level ele's- we had 2 or 3. So they outgunned us to the end and killed her.
They apparently didnt 1/4 her cos they didnt have the right (according to Lockheart) - which is total bull. The screenies show her dead on the floor and our team didnt get the message saying "you do not gain experience because this action is too easy", which every team gets when killing aen. Locky said there team got that message.
So who do you think got that armour? Certainly wasnt me and i did try but i didnt have the right
Infinity say they didnt get the armour, so it was either Morgaine or Electrometrix in my opinion.

trenker wrote:Surely the devs have known from day one that pulling aggro to others is easy and that therefore it will be done intentionally. So this means that the game is designed this way. So this implies that it is 'okay' because that is what is meant to happen. This suggests that if we don't like it we are playing the wrong game.
Well, the above logic doesnt help much, but perhaps the game isn't being played at all like the devs originally thought. Perhaps we are their worst nightmare and we the players have already changed Atys to a place the original designers don't recognise. Ha haaa, an evolving world alright, but through our actions more than the devs. He hee.
Above philosophy for amusement only, no finger pointing or justifying meant.
One can see the intention of conflict everywhere. Imagine we have outposts and Arispotle is as populated as desired. And we have no reboot in weeks.
- All Kamibars would be down
- Wars about resources down in PR and at outposts
- I t would take double and quad the time to be able to craft q180 items
- No fast leveling of elemental or melee (we would have not enough boosts)
- 10 times more DP would occure, all would be in a slow progress

Was Dekkert in Infinity team berore crash?
If he was part of it, then Infinity was there first (before crash) and their actions after crash could be seen as revenge for Melinoe's action before crash as Infinity was thinkin those actions intentional at that point.
If he was not part of it, then Inifinitys actions seem to be just plain wrong bullying if story gives accurate description of events.
totnkopf wrote:Yes, Dekky was part of the team before the crash.
Yes and no.
Hehe, this will be fun trying to explain.....
Part Un.....pre router problem:
After the router issue at the SoR site and a good many of us crashed, the whole thing got very confusing honestly. There sees to be three to four different teams involved. The team I was in before the router issue with Morgaine, Rundll, Bloodbath and a member of Infinity(he asked that he be left anonymous...and this guy is really a nice guy as I have teamed with him quite a bit since I started playing Ryzom). Then the team that accidently aggroed the Aen guards on us was made up of Aphodine, Loomas and some other Melinoe members. What happened there is they tried to go through the tp to Undersprings SW of Dyron and stumbled upon us near there. A simple mistake of running for one's life and then realizing "Oh crap.....those people are going to get aggroed." Of course, our team was so busy battling Aen and trying to stay alive that we did not have time to think or really talk things through which led to a simple misunderstanding. The router problem occured and the team I was in all crashed to my knowledge. I don't know about the Melinoe team.
Part Deux....after support team fixed the router and peeps that crashed relog on:
Apparantly, then either the same Melinoe team or at least a Melinoe team with some members from the previous team got on before we did and went to Aen to see if it was free. It was, and they decided to commence battling the boss. Now this is where I don't know everything that happened. Me, Morgaine and the member from Infinity that was our team decided to go see if Aen was free. I the last of us three to log back on due to some technical difficulties. Now, apparantly another team made of Lockheart and some other members from Infinity came upon Loomas, Aphodine, Wackytoon and company whilest they were battling Aen. What happened between them, I don't know because I didn't see, but whilest that was taking place, Morgaine in getting to the Aen spawn gets aggroed by a critter as well as the member from Infinity that was on our team(but keep in mind he was not part of Lockheart's team). They run into the two teams apparantly battling over Aen, and it then just really gets confusing.....a homin team train wreck if you will. As Morgaine is running for her life, she is sending me tells to come help heal and where was I. I died running to the area, respawned at the portal to Undersprings and then finally got to the incident in question after all was over and the arguing commenced.
*TAKES DEEP BREATH TO RESUPPLY OXYGEN TO THE BRAIN TO TYPE*
Conclusion:
Does the pre-router problem, incident one have anything to do with post router problem, incident two. I have no idea. It very likely could have. After, I first logged on, I did want to talk to Loomas and Aphodine about what happened before because I was still upset until I looked at the video several times, and then I realized they had done nothing on purpose or maliciously. I did get to talk to Loomas and Aphodine, and we talked through the first incident, worked everything out and apologized to each other whilest GM Theia (hope I got your name right) was trying to figure out and help sort out what happened during the second incident.
It was a very confusing situation, but like I said, even though I was there for the first incident, I wasn't there till the very end of the second incident after everything had went down there. Maybe in this case, the best thing for everyone to do is to say I'm sorry, forgive and forget.
Not to make light of the situation or make fun of it, but maybe there could be a huge in game boxing/combat event between all parties involved to let off steam. I'm willing to participate even though I'd get my rear end kicked as my high level is heal.
I hope I was able to clarify things and not confuse, and I hope that helped.

But its still going to be pointless.
Nobody can 'win' such inter-guild conflicts, just grind on each other mercilessly over and over again.
Much more to be gained by cooperation.

linze wrote:That is beside the fact that the other team probably feels that they were fighting the Aen first so you were the stealers. And from what the GMs said in Klients was that the server did NOT reset - it was a network outage - so the servers stayed up and running. So the damage calc done on the Aen was not reset. So that combined with the damage they did before the network outage means they did more than 50% damage. So hence it was their kill legitimately, not yours.
Before the the outage we did not cast once on Aen and had left the scene while the first team was fighting Aen. Also Aen is an triggered event. Once the event is reset so is Aen's HP and damage totals. Whether the server was reset or it was network outage is irrelevant. After the network outage we waited 15 mins before we pulled Aen. By the time we had pulled Aen another 10 minutes had passed. It wasn't until we had been fighting Aen for 10 mins that the Infinity team showed up. If the first team would have shown up before or during us pulling Aen, we would have gladly stepped aside. Not to mention the kill stealing team was not the same team fighting Aen before the network outage.
borg9 wrote:But to be honest its just a drop, and yes 'in character' we can get upset about it and start our fights..... As long as it doesn't get personal.
It's not about the drop. It's about Infinity breaking the game rules, harassing other players and nothing being done about it. Being falsely accused once or even twice is conceivable but to continue being falsely accused over and over again is not. Do the players and GM's not see a pattern of Infinity members continually harassing players?
This thread is about players breaking the rules and nothing being done. About a month or so ago I spotted a player using a harvesting bot. A GM ported and confirm they were using a bot (as well as many other players on scene). The botting player was ported to a new location so they bot would stopping working. Nothing else was done to this player. So once again, rule breaking and nothing done.

Isnt it funny how people don't feel strongly about something until it affects them personally.
Example #1: I have the most infamous and well known history of problems with Infinity. (well, Posmo and I do) Weeks after the initial incidents which caused Infinity to declare war on Atys
.I was a member of Melinoe (Loomass guild) and I had a small altercation in the roots with some Infinity. (I was trying to pass though to Nexus) and instead of support from my guild, I got told by high officer DoubleTap to stop my whining behaviour because it is unbecoming of a Melinoe.
Im sure Loomas would agree with me that it is NEVER fair or right to cause other players distress.
Its not ok to kill steal, drag agro, or personally attack another player.
Its not ok to break the rules or a CoC.
But now its ironic that Melinoe/Loomas would be posting on a thread named Rule breaking and nothing done when in fact, inside his guild, his HO **repeatedly** broke CoC, and was well known to all on windy server for his belligerent actions, and
.oh my
nothing was done.
So now Infinity does something that directly affects Loomas, and Loomas is mad.
Now to Loomas who loves corny old sayings,
..those who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones
..?
..get your own house in order
..?
Not picking on you Loomas, just remarking on how very ironic it is to read your complaint here.
(excuse the digression but this stuff affected me personally enough that I left Ryzom)
But back to Infinity
..
Infinity are just bullies. All the bystanders who throw an opinion in here just have yet to be affected personally by them. Soon as they are, they will be on here squawking too. We all come to a game to relax, make friends, and have challenges to accomplish stuff in game. In game RP conflict is fun, and you can have enough RP conflict without having to get personal.

Err... the GMs arent policemen, they only enforce game mechanics, take your disputes to the PvP arena.

This thread appears to be mostly about finger pointing and complaints best kept in team, in game, and between the principals involved. If you have a problem with a particular guild, the best way to deal with it is in still tells or PM's here on the forum.
It's a shame in a way, because enforcement of rules is a legit topic for discussion on any game board. Too bad neither of the two threads regarding rule enforcement are on topic now. Instead, one's an outright troll and the other has increasingly become more spiteful, accusatory and angry.
Could we maybe start a serious, thoughtful and general discussion of the way rule violations are handled and what we think needs improvement? Because folks, this isn't it...
