You have to understand, there are different types of players and groups. DCP are achievers, not RP'ers, so we'd set out in any game with a goal. I personally dont believe in creating my own content in a game! I prefer the developers to do that for me! So with the guild it was about maxing our lvls , hunting, getting uber gear, pvp, doing all the rites and everything else that was ingame for us to do!
Unfortunately theres only perhaps 4-5 months worth of that kind of content before it starts getting repetitive.**Theres no long term goals, like raiding on wow, or trying to get +7 items on RFO. But for a player like yourself who it could be argued hold a game like this back somewhat! You dont mind there being no new content, because you like using your imagination to do what ever it is you do!

How can that make any sense?

> Game developers simply cannot make enough "content" to satiate hundreds/thousands/millions of players.

>> The inevitable result of playing a game purely to raise numbers and collect things is boredom and subsequently quitting the game.

>>> Once you've quit the game, your "achievements" mean absolutely nothing because they are no longer affecting you or the game's extant community.

It makes perfect sense, mmorpgs normally have a sytem , a means to keep players in the game for a long period of time, something to work towards!
Expansions are the better example. Take TBC in WoW. that introduced new lands new gear and the level cap!

Ryzom has nothing to keep players here after they have done everything. Outposts are broken and they have been around over a year!
Most games do have a system to keep players around long term, ryzom doesnt have this.

*Don't get me wrong, I've been here from the start. I know what this game has been through and I'm still here. But I'm not the average mmo player! The average mmo player wants to be entertained. They like questing, killing things, collecting uber gear, and have fun doing it! RP'rs are a minority, and yes I know Ryzom is far out of the box, it is unique with its lore and its landscapes and community! But that doesn't make it appealing to the average gamer!

I think Final has a point even i as a new player with one master and 3 other masters on the way i can see the boredom slipping thru, i really think some new content for older players then making some quests on mainland for some newbie's, wouldnt hurt this game, it would it make it better imo cuz there is something as a 'oooh im a master now burn out' in this game.

Im not talking about that i really want to do quests or something but new lands to explore, new mobs, maybe even some high lvl guild related things besides OP's u can say ur never end the exploring in Ryzom but after i did my 15th trek thru the whole of Atys i can see the flaws in the design and the need for new lands for players who been here a lot longer then i am..... even a increase in the lvl cap doenst seem to bad, u cant tell me that in the 3 years this game has been devolped no1 at Nevrax was thinking about these things and i also think it is time for Gamforge to step in and entertain _old_ players instead of trying to pleasure the new ones.... once the old ones start leaving cuz of boredom u have a problem.... and this is already happening as u can see from these very same forums.

Edit: I remember when i talked to Praha when he left this game on Cho, he told me: im not going to pay anymore for a game that never came out of beta.

And im starting to see his poinrt, i really do, this game could be so much more then it is now.

I've been playing for two years and only have one skill above 200, and that's in healing... so according to this thread I am the best type of gamer out there because, at this rate, I won't be bored for at least another 10 years :D ... the way I see it, you can't powerlevel, get bored, and blame the devs for not catering to your do-everything-as-quickly-as-possible expectations of gameplay. Ryzom is a much deeper game than that and any change to the contrary would dull its uniqueness.

Please no... as a guildmate described WoW, "the game starts at level 60." Such a game geared towards your idea of achieving doesn't even compare to Ryzom, which starts immediately. Does it need more content for the high and low players alike? Of course it does; that the game has been relatively stagnant since release I agree with fully, but increasing the level cap is definitely not the answer, as that will only please the powerlevelers who will grind those new levels in a month, come back here at level 300, and again ask for more.

Ditto and I couldn't agree more. We do need new contenct tho IMO, I am not bored yet by any means - thats a very long way off, but I would like more, different, things to do.
3:1, 2:1, 1:1 ... probability factor of one to one; we have normality. I repeat: we have normality. Anything you still can't handle is therefore your own problem.

No new content is a game that stagnates imo and i truelly think it is long overdue.

Aye it is overdue! Those people that have played 2 years or more with no skills over 200, are the minority types that can log into the game and stand around for hours admiring how lovely everything looks whilst doing their acting out RP stuff! - Or creating alot of decent scenic movies, which is great, but you guys are a minority! Most people just dont go for that kind of approach to a game imo! *How ever much we support the game , I think it's important we keep pressure on the developers!
