You can never apply a "behaviour ruleset" to a group of people, especially if they're a group of people with Asperger's or other forms of autism.
Yep, fair enough, in my haste I repsonded to an inaccurate generalisation with an inaccurate generalisation lol.
You're right, symptoms can vary immensely from one person to the next, while there are many overlaps, my son's symptoms vary quite a bit from mine.
Speaking of which ....

Is an innaccurate generalisation. It may apply to the vast percentage of the population, but not "all".
Some people, for medical reasons, are physically unable to participate in roleplay.
Some people with Asperger's believe absolutely everything is fact whether it is or not, they literally believe TV programs are real. That's not because they're participating in roleplay, quite the opposite, it's because the whole concept of "acting" is completely beyond their comprehension. It's something my son really struggled with in earlier years.
But I won't waffle on any further on the subject. Clearly the idea that some people can't roleplay is as foreign a concept to certain people as the concept of roleplaying itslef is to those that just can't do it. It is, nevertheless, a medically proven fact that some people cannot roleplay, they perceive it as outright lying and don't understand why people do it, others, like me, don't have such an extreme view but nevertheless still find it "weird". I can't actually recall any period during growing up where I played "make believe", I could do it if I tried, but what's the point of purposely making myself feel stupid ? And I've never felt the need for an "escape" from reality.
I know I'm in a minority and seem "odd" to many, but I'm not bothered about that, I'm quite happy with the way I am and if an Asperger's cure was found, I certainly wouldn't take it
Ooh and btw Komissar, that was an awesome event, nice work
The RP bits may have amused me for entirely different reasons to everyone else, but it was great fun, very well put together, and much enjoyed
