That's not the real problem with false declarations, I think, just an inevitable result of it. The real problem is that if false declarations are allowed, and you want to capture an outpost, the best way to do it is to declare an attack and not show up, and then again, and again, and again. And eventually the defenders will stop showing up, and you can suddenly attack full force and probably manage to get a high tresshold as there'll not be many defenders.

The defending guild can show up in force for the defense round ofcourse, but so can the attackers. A full force of defenders fighting both the NPC guards and a full force of attackers can never get the same tresshold as the full force of attackers could fighting only the NPC guards.

This means a huge advantage for the attackers. Defending an outpost would become pretty much futile. Treshold raising would simply be the only way to protect your outpost anymore. Instead of fighting other players, outpost battles would only be about killing the NPC guards. And much as I'd like some more of a PvE element to outposts, that's not what I had in mind. :o

Jackoba asked me to post this, so what the heck. Ruhen, if you mean false declarations where 0 to one attackers shows up, then this has been overwhelming a Kamist tactic. Since I began recording all declarations 16 months ago, KA guilds have made 28 declarations against outposts. During that time Kamist guilds have made 99 declarations against KA outposts. Only 1 KA declaration was false - that one was a knee-jerk reaction of an HO to a Kamist guild making 3 Christmas Eve declarations against KA outposts. On the other hand, I believe that about 23 of the 99 Kamist declarations have been false declarations where 0-1 attackers showed up. That 23 includes the 5 Illusions of Atys false declares that were cancelled by guild deletion however. So if you discount those 5, there were 18 false attacks against the KA - including 11 made by Crescent Moon.

Let me emphasis that this issue is not about timing and it is not about recent Nexus attacks. Everyone knows that Nexus attacks are real attacks.

P.S. I am aware the KA guilds were more aggressive in the 5 months before I began recording all declarations. However, I won't present biased incomplete numbers for those months.

Mmmh, its been a while, but I remember standing at sams op, FD's op,... without any kara showing up. And as you see, dont call it "a KAMI" tactic. According to this its mostly a "guild" tactic, and as far I know Crescent Moon is working on own behalf.

But really that isnt the point here. We cant change what is done. Lets just try not to do it again!!

I have an idea how we all, kamis and karas, whole community can end this mess :)

Lets end all OP wars. Give all OPs to community OP holders and all guilds will share fair amount of cats and mats. No more PvP. No more OP. No more PR wars/ganks. No more aggro dragging. No more false and real declarations. No more spawn camping. Community will become "cool-community-before-OP-introduction". We all will live in peace. We will fight kitins only.

/Peace

Its pretty obvious that allowing aggro dragging, spawn camping and "false declares" will lead to a general downward trend in the community.

I happen to like the idea of aggro dragging, but have not done it because I don't want it done to me as a matter of course.

Spawn camping is pointless, it just kills the fight if there is a team at each spawn point to kill off ppl trying to re-spawn.

False declares will lead to "handovers" with max TH.

In the short term I think a lot of ppl will get cross with each other and in the long term a lot will just stop PvP ing for OPs.

I'd support a move to continue to fight "clean," happy to fight dirty too tho if things go that way.

There use to be a happy place like this MJ , it was a server called cho where you couldnt leave a GH without bag totally full of cats, any boss you wanted was up, except maybe plod in void cause of a blue monkey named crazod who called the void home, there were no op wars, no pvp, no faction BS.
I am sick of showing up to outpost wars..... win or lose its the same dam thing i waste my time for 4 hours on the weekend and dont get a single level, mind you some weekends its more like 12 hours and not much sleep. if one faction wants all the outposts, then take them please, thou realize in doing so you are only fueling the fire of PvP more and you will eventually make people on the losing side leave the game........boss hunts have become the highlight of this game, cause op wars are the same every time "go in wipe or get wiped" LAMO over and over again

Cho wasnt real Ryzom. it would of been if not all those bored Arispotle players would not been there to ruin... err making it easy for newcomers.

... and you ARE supposed to fight for cats/bosses/sup's and not just get them when you want.

.. and one side taking all the ops. cant. kamis are putting up a fight. blame kamis for op wars.
