rundll32 wrote:The argument seems pretty simple to me. If you dislike being killed - and/or it genuinelly upsets you/aggravates you then dont dig in a place where you can be killed. As far as im concerned half the challenge of digging in PR is avoiding the aggro mobs - and the aggro homins. If you genuinelly cant stand it - and think that pvp is ruining the game etc - dig PR in the non pvp zones.
Now I would like something confirming before I can fully express an opinion on this statement. Namely are there non-PvP PR zones with EXACTLY the same quality and type of mats as the zones where the ganking is being done? I'd be grateful if someone could confirm this.

If there ARE then your argument is valid.

If there are NOT then you make a completely pointless argument. The people digging there are looking for a particular quality/type of mat and have no choice where to dig. They HAVE to dig there to get what they want. As a consequence they also have NO choice about being a PvP target.

  • NO for the orange (level 101-150) regions of Lands of Umbra (Gate of Obscurity, Windy Gate)
  • YES for the red (level 151-200) regions ol Lands of Umbra (Elusive Forest, Trench of Trials)
Non PvP region that could be used is Abyss of Ichor

lol .... thats where ill be digging at lvl 65 when I start :p Just like I dug in Dyron at lvl 60 :p and still do at lvl 120 lol....So really why not just dig in one of the higher zones to avoid PvP? I thought the 250 zone to dig was PvP ...

(shows how much I know about PR besides some bosses and treking..On that note they need to remove PvP or atleast GvG from ToT it ruins all the fun I "Used" to have helping other guilds trek)

Guys just dig in the 200 or 250 Zones :p who cares what others say.Its PvPs fault your digging there :P

Thanks for the info guys. Do the non-PvP have the same mats as the PvP zones? If they do then I don't see what people are complaining about.

The problem is the grade of mats you may dig in a special region. And I can imagine, that it can be painfull if you want to harvest a given mat from a spot but 'only' excellent and supreme mats pop, and you have to wait, because you can't dig the mats with your skill.
  • orange (level 101-150) minimum stanza required for exellent mats ( q50) supreme mats (q100)
  • red (level 151-200) minimum stanza required for exellent mats (q100) supreme mats (q150)
  • purple (level 201-250) minimum stanza required for exellent mats (q150) supreme mats (q200)
  • supernodes (only Lands of Umbra) 'no requirements'
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

the 250 zone that is PVP in PR is the area that has the SUPERNODES, the DEV's know this and i believe they ARE BIG fans of PvP and Ganking, thats why nothing has or will be done about this sort of action, Supernodes i think were intensionally put in the PVP zone so guilds would fight over them, but this isnt really happening, most times i have seen or heard about, the gankers wait until the foragers start digging then they kill, which only wastes the mats being dug as no-one gets them.

so in my opinion, the DEV's can shove their Supernodes where the sun dont shine, to me, pvp is about skill, not about a fully equiped HP Ganker running around an area killing players fully equiped in focus gear and a pick in their hand, i mean if pvp is supposed to be like testing your skillz against other players, the gankers arent setting their hopes too high, this is my opinion and always will be, if the DEV's want to balance things out a little, let the BONUS FOCUS be free to Jewels and armors, then the diggers can dig and fight, they only have to equip the weapon of their choice, hell even make Picks useful in a fight, let us throw them or something at the attacker.
hehe, sorry about serious first part, but this sort of topic has been going on ever since the PVP was added to PR areas and i am getting sick of listening to both sides of the arguements, and if anyone says then dont read this thread, my answer to you is, this thread was about OUTPOST SWITCHING, not PR Ganking, there is another thread going on about the very same thing and its the same ppl posting there as here.

the 2nd part of my post is just plain stupid cause i am tired , i havent slept in over 24 hours, i need a drink, i am out of cigs and and and typing this got me away from diggin for 5 mins :P .... oh and also, we know no matter how much ppl complain about ganking, the DEV's will never do anything about it.

Well said and here, here to that. Nothing big, brave or clever about ganking a digger.
