The original Spires news item.

Oh and I agree with Minou, it's good to walk. Or ride.
Minor problem, it also says:
Nevrax News Item wrote:The first thing to keep in mind is the role of the PvP flag. You will only be affected by the rules and effects described in this document if you choose to enable it. This way, if you don't want to participate in the PvP conflict, you will be able to stay out of it – you will only be affected by the availability of respawn points and teleport tickets. However, there will be an interesting difference: there will be large battles all over the territory, which you will be able to watch safely. :-)
So neutrals will be nerfed for TPs/Spawns, but unless they give neutrals the ability to Tag themselves they cant do anything about it. Yay :(

What gets me is the number of people that say "if you don't like PvP, dont get involved", while PvP intrudes further and further on PvE content. (OP availability, Fame messing with TP availability and soon Spires to further nuke your travel options.)

And before people say "you could be kami/kara without it being PvP related", frankly if the Samsara picked a Kult, then the other would immediately consider us an enemy (more op battles, *sigh*), since the Lore tells em to. Apparently.

EDIT:

Oh, and yeah, good to walk... erm its a 10-15 minute swim to get to any of the cities in the Tryker lands, pretty the first 2-3 times, dull thereafter. I recently moved my Mount to Yrkanis for the sole purpost of checking the higher level cities. As for Zorai lands... well I just run to them cos there is much less aggro than Forest. Still dull though.

And is it just me or are there only 3 spawn points in the Tryker lands? Or have I missed getting some.

Keep in mind that the phrase "capital city region" and "capital city TP" are very different in most lands, just not in the desert.

So, we can have a spire in the capitol city region and all of it's effects will apply EXCEPT the 2 TP's that are considered "capital city TP's".

*sighs*..Alittle PvP is fine but I really don't like the spires concept..There is a relitivly high probability that when spires is realesed Red's life (my char) will end shortly after...I'd rather not leave ryzom but it seems inevitable as they go from one type of game to another .... Well sure hope it all turns out ok cus i like this game and the comunity ...

In the quote of the original spires concept dug out by Jamela it says spires will be bought from a global pool of faction points gained by killing people from other factions.

Any problem we think we may have now with the ganking of tagged harvesters etc will probably look like Eutopia compared to a situation where we could have zealots of either faction chasing points 24/7.

TBH, I am happy R2 will be published before Spires, and not the other way around like told before. I hope R2 will get us lots of more fun then the spires will give us...

if you have higher kami fame than karavan, then yes, only 3 spawn points are available (FH, Loria, BB)

Thanks. Guess I need to decide if its worth working to balance my fame a bit more closely given current events.

Very true. But I was responding to the fact that capital cities would be lost to inhabitants.
