Back on topic ;)
When we designed the Episode 2, we wanted to allow you to shape the outcome of the episode. Your actions will have a lasting effect on the game, which even future players will notice.

Whether you are a warrior, a caster, an harvester or a crafter, you will have a role to play in Episode 2. The two opposed factions (Kami, Karavan) will be involved, and even hominists (Tryton) will be able to influence the outcome
Yay for the living world and everybody who participate! Reading that made me excited again about the direction of the saga.

The Karavan and the Kamis will be rewarding those who help them. When you will accomplish task missions for them, you will be granted honors points, which you will be able to exchange for special rewards at the end of the Episode 2. Four different types of rewards, equipment items specific to each main skill branch (fight, magic, harvest, craft), will be available; additionally, in one of the possible outcomes, there is also an XP reward to be granted.
I hope this won't turn out in to a clickfest like with the invasion or a camp mob x for 3 day's competing with 50 others (and your friends) to get ahead with the next step.

The exchange of points for items, why? The economy of atys and the production of goods is something that is for 99% the realm of crafters supported by harvesters. They search for the best mats and the best combinations to create gear for their customers/guilds/friends. Taking that away by exchanging points for gear seems rather simple.

Isn't it possible for the kami/karavan to share the crafting plans or materials to make these items ?

Introducing a point system will alway's make people go for the the easy way to get the points, it would be nicer if there was a more goal oriented way. eg. gain the trust of a kami crafter NPC so it teaches you to make a double bladed axe. Then train with that weapon to learn a multi decapitating skill.

I verry much favor the goal approach with little steps in between then a point ruch to get uber gear. But since there is no more elaboration about the way it is supposed to work I'm guessing a bit and voicing my concerns about how I think it will work.

I be wit Aina, heh.

Sher, I'd be willin to go to a wee bit o' trouble to git a nifty item, e'en iffin it ain sumptin I kin use, mebbe a friend will wants it. But Iffin it gonna take all day, let alones several, I prolly ain gonna bother, as it jus gonna wear out anyways.

However, ya puts a craftin plan up fer grabs, an I gonna go overboard fer it, no matter wot I gotta (try) to do, or however long it takes. New knowledge be a far better reward den sum trinket, no matter how purty.

True new craft items sound good.
And for those with no craft skill?
There is plenty pure combat player out there. why should the before allready rich craft/harvesters get this huge reward and combat player none?

Better make it a choice of rewards what balanced for the diffrent classes.

The pure combat player assists his group/guild/friends in completing the missions to get bettter gear. It is a group working for a common goal.

and about the reward being dispenced by a NPC:

<Example> John crafts weapons, he can make verry good 2h swords and axes, up to ql 250 full speed, max dmg. He has worked long and hard to get the levels, to get his recipies right, people come to him for the best swords and axes.

Now there is a new quest, do some missions for a NPC and get a good weapon without having to see john. John is ***Edited: As outlined in the official forum rules & Netiquette, use of foul language is not permitted on these public message boards.*** cause he has just waisted countless hours leveling the skills, getting the right materials to his gear and being replaced by a NPC gear dispencer.

Example: Peter the figter is doing countless missons for a npc/faction or what ever for weeks, slaugtering hoards of mobs and bandits,to get his honer points up to recive what nice prize in the end.

Finaly the day has come.

"Well done Peter you prove youself a true hero bla bla bla"
"Here is you prize!"
Npc excange window come up and Peter looks at his big prize.

O_o

"A Stanza for 2h mace!!!???"
"But why? im not a crafter?"

Or

Example: Lisa is a harvester and a jewel crafter what think the event sound fun and spend her weeks doing missons, meaning grind grind grind .

The day come....

"What in the Black Smurfs!! a Pink helmet stanza???

I for one would be so ***Edited: As outlined in the official forum rules & Netiquette, use of foul language is not permitted on these public message boards.*** of i don't know what i had done. (well true... a pink helmet would be cool but you get my drift.)

But this honor system is not going to be on teams or guilds but on the player.

True in our guild the ones what crafts gives it away freely and we help ech other withmats, but not all guilds are like what.

Take RL, Then you have done a job you like to be paid with money. But your boss says we are big famlie, and hi knows you need food and clothes so his paying you in what. But some months the company secrtary is a bit confused cus she has so many to buy for so you only get bannanas and Boxers. Not very rewarding for a good job would you say?

""QUOTE Four different types of rewards, equipment items specific to each main skill branch (fight, magic, harvest, craft), will be available; additionally, in one of the possible outcomes, there is also an XP reward to be granted.""

And items wear out and it's only given once.
So i would not worry to much they going to hamsters on items on the npc's.
