Just a guess .... but I think it goes something like this.

They create a patch eg 30
They put it on the ATS
The bugs are reported
They create fixes for patch 30, eg 31,32,33
The dont' go back and recreated the build of patch 30.

This is the way it looks to me anyway.

Patch 1 had fixes in days

Patch 2 had fixes in hours, major fixes next day (crosses fingers)

I am guess but the time to rebuild a whole patch, with version control etc and no lose of char data would be much greater than..... patch regardless and band aiding it straight after.

Also the get to see if its just bugs in the test environment vs carries through to live.

Not necessarily the best route of action ..... but it is a route of action :P

Is it? If not then ok there's one bug... But I'd still like to see helbreat post some more that he has mentioned (I'm sure he's just too busy playing to post) :) Oh and before anyone says it, I'm not counting the mob names in target window one.

As one of the two posters on the ATS map crash bug that was referenced, I have to say something about the whole ATS/bug reporting process.

First, don't take this the wrong way, but Sprite, while I find the majority of our disagreements on this board to be legitimate, given you've barely posted any feedback from ATS it's really hard to have the moral authority to defend the devs on this one and tweak helbreat. As someone who has spent not an inconsiderable amount of time on the ATS from pre-patch 1 days, duly passed on bugs (only some of which were posted here, since I tried to play by the rules and use tickets early on before the ATS forum came to be), and discovered that not a single one was addressed, I can't say the response by the devs here has been anything but awful. I had really hoped for something better when the ATS forum went live, but it appears not to have had an impact.

And I would say this round of ATS testing was easily the most annoying I've ever spent on a test server. I got to spend a half hour figuring out the configuration was different, then 3 hours to learn and then configure every skill in the book with my 28400 sps in each skill - incidentally, if you are curious learning every 151 craft stanza cost the most points with 16985 left, where harvest had 25420, magic 25175, and fight 24320 - then another 4-5 trying to gather enough q150 mats to be able to get armor et al to successfully test out things. (My wallet had 500k in it, but when no one was selling items its rather worthless.) So basically for many people you were spending an entire week's worth of gameplay just getting set up.

Very, very, very poor design by the devs, and unsurprising that our feedback wasn't dealt with and that bugs got through. Hard to test things like TP bugs and new stanzas if you die every time you go out to harvest since your only option is to wear refugee clothes. (Although, in fairness, they did lower the DP penalty to 20 per death, although the entire concept of advancing a 151 level toon on the test server is ludicrous.)

And for what? Doesn't look like our feedback did anything. Just as it hasn't done so in the past. And no offense to Lawrence's posts in announcements, but I almost now routinely go to the US boards to find out from Cerest at least what the heck is going on currently since at least he responds to posts...witness him at least taking feedback on some potential disastrous harvesting changes. The communication system on this side is especially miserable.

I'm almost at the point where I'm going to call this a game - I've been darned patient and openminded and had given them the opportunity to fix what has been screwed up through a couple of patches now, but it seems our voices seem to be ignored. I agree with the OP that communication of what this game is gonna look like soon from some higher power is necessary in a hurry for me to make a decision. Or lack thereof could do the same.

Firtly, if you were worried about offending me, I wasn't :) I don't deny that I haven't posted much (not much at all infact) on the ATS forums, but everything I did find was covered by other people's posts, so I didn't see much point.

What I was trying to get at with my "tweaking helbreat" was that he often says something along the lines of "with all these patches that were reported on the ATS and are still here in the live version so why do we need an ATS at all its just wasting my money" but I can only see one bug (again, excluding the mob target names) that was on the ATS and is still here. If you can point more out to me I would be very grateful :)

As for "defending the devs," I would defend anyone who was being put down in this situation :D

lol i been on a bender today gf's works christams drink and i went to see blade trinity great film as always wit the blade trilogy ;P so havnt played there are a few bugs that still havnt been fixed that came with the patch

the new windows in the inv for equiping hands still not working.... if there not implemented yet then waste of time adding them at this stage add it when its ment to be added and work

also if you are fighting a mob and fear it if it runs away and doesnt come back when you kill it you get told that you killed it too easily and that you dont get exp for this behavior?!?

Um, the TP bug is one very prominent one.

Obviously :| Thats why I was excluding it from my question as I said earlier, because there's no point in mentioning; everyone knows about it and up till now was the only one specifically mentioned by people who said "all of the bugs from the ATS still here"

Oh and I'm glad you edited the post you made originally or I might have actually been offended.. It would have been *very* hard for me not to have taken it the wrong way ;) (ps, I can't remember that I "made a big stink about getting access" ? I was in the beta so I got it anyway :p )

So everytime someone posts another example, are you going to say "oh yeah I wasn't counting that one"?! Besides which that's TWO 'prominent' ones, TP bug and text bug.

Did the hands on the equip screen work on the ATS?

Was all the quality info screwed on the ATS?
