I, too, thought the game suffered from severe lack of variety of creatures -- up until about lvl 50. Same old forrest as the noob island, same creatures too. By 50, I had met enough people in the Matis region to travel about the harder areas of matis, and found there was a lot more variety! More creatures, more variations on the forrest theme. Still, some repetition, but much better. About when I reached lv 70, I saw that there where groups going from one race's land to the next, and I tagged along on every one I could. This took me through the hardest areas of two lands, and in to the capitol cities of each new land too. Trust me, a few trips of that, including cutting accross prime roots regions, and you'll see the game has plenty of variety. Just stick to it, you'll be well rewarded.

My $0.02, tax, tag, and title not included. No warrenties, express or implied apply to this opinion.

First off, the variety hits as you level. Best to get to 77 melee then travel around, at least you MIGHT survive longer with the speed ups etc.

I found Tryker to be BORING. During beta they had a stress test server and you got a boost to I forget what level. I trained up, bought the BEST armor the NPC's had and went searching around...and PROMPTLY died.

I went Fyros when game went live, and I LOVE IT. Harvesting is MUCH better as a Fyros than Tryker was.

Matis lands are interesting, Zorai are pretty(and lag like you are dragging an elephant behind you).

Mostly what you are seeing OVER and over and over and OVER again are the mobs one melee tier above you (sorry to use a Horizon term...but it does fit best). Mob come in tiers, Tier one is up to 50, Tier two is roughly up to 100ish, Teir three is up to 150ish, tier four is up to 200, and last tier is 201 and up, I DO know I have seen some mobs that seem invincable (think Sleeper in EQ, in that we haven't YET figured out how to kill them...give us time, strategy and a few dozen levels each...and they will die...just like the Sleeper did).

Also bear in mind that the game is "growing" this means that an expansion of land/mobs/content is IN THE WORKS. Meaning they are planning a MEGA patch bigger than patch one or patch two, in that land mass WILL be added.

The storyline is in its infancy, and we have yet to see half of what can/will be. I...personally...am excited about it.

Yes, I admit it has a ton of potential. I’m just bored of the Tryker region and wondering how long it will take for me to get bored of the other regions as well (sounds like longer).

Maybe some caves or something to explore, or even better, underwater caves you have to dive through to get to some areas! Wouldn’t that make things more interesting?

What about mountains you can climb, as well? I’ve seen them, but never can get on them (at least not very high ones).

I really want to see the jungle…

Zorai is wonderful. The foliage, the bugs...fire flies take on a whole new meaning.
Seldom does anyone look up, but the trees (not the giant roots) are incredible. There are waterfalls in ponds, in the cities of intuition. Maiden pond has a variety of niches and open areas that make for great fighting. It's a little foresty on the west side, but it opens up as you get to the void in the NE area. There's also a volcano you can travel under!

In Umbra there are large rolling hills, and some nifty landscaping done in the higher elevations. The Void and Dementia are also relatively high elevation areas. They hold the biggest mobs, and some real bad lookin bosses.

did anyone mention bosses yet? Are they on that page? Kincherkya is a blue kincher with a huge golden horn. Kipuckya is blue with all sorts of gold looking armor on his legs and body. Rakya is a shiny dark blue ragus that's all methed out. There's also a blue timari with gold stegasaurus things, a giant black and gold bawaab, Mombi, the new Womabai boss I encountered is a huge wombai that made me die to a source explosion. I was harvesting when a larger than average mosquito nose nudge my pick...so I turned my camera and look up...and up..and up....and down...with a nice over head view of my corpse and green source explosion.

These bosses don't touch on what's out there. There's boss mobs for everything. Tang Ka looks kinda plain, gold and red would look awsome on a kiz. There's Maniah in umbra, who's larger than Rakya , Tin-something-something that's a REALLY hard clopper who kills najab...making them my favorite..I've seen two. Bunch of Zoann (messab boss) roaming cities of intuition, a few more named dogs, freneq, destroyer ragus, spinah...

None of these are in the void, only mombi and kipuckya in (edit) Demenstia at the very beginning, a few in umbra, most in haven and maiden pond I think. Man there's bosses up the wazoo. they also have different ways of fighting. You can trigger an event to get a gold horned bodoc I think so there's hidden bosses to. umm bodocs are white in pr. You can find some screenshots. they look awsome. There's other guys in the pr as well. lots and lots of variety.

Things are being added. From what I heard, they simply needed to start generating revenue, and the game went live a little early.

This is exactly the reason I've always felt travelling from one land to another should be easy. You should be able to get to the capitol cities of each land as a low level character because then at least you'll have the variety of fighting the low level mobs in different areas rather than grinding away in your homeland.

I'm not saying travel through the roots or outer regions of each land should be easy, but there should be a way for low level chars to easily get from land to land. By the time they're big enough to get there, they probably don't really care about the low level areas of the other land.

Coming from Fryos I thought the same thing. It was sand, sand, desert and more sand. The creatures were same same. But, then I went on one of the planned trips. It was amazing, wow, what a world outside of Fryos.
