All race guilds are not a problem, the problem will become who they follow. As a follower of the Karavan, unless a Fyros or Zorai has commited to a life following the Karavan we see them as suspicious if not outright enemies.

DoubleTap may have a point; will a guild like this work? Can a guild be neutral and not take sides with the Kami or Karavan? The story my make a guild pick sides.

Neva

I am almost sure of it Neva, as several of us old timers have talked about. We can choose to be unhostile amongst each other for as long as possible, but it will make things more difficult when the line in the sand is drawn.

History has shown that in the epic battles you will have to choose which side to fight for, and your rewards are based on that. You can sit out quite awhile I assume and fall behind in any chance to be loyal to either faction, but also be untrustworthy to either of them.

The longer you wait to choose sides and make a stand, the longer your potential enemies growth remains unchecked. When all the folks that "claim" to be unbiased and do not align with either side decide to jump in, do you want them against you ? Fence riders typically jump to the side that is winning, that could be your enemies.

This is why non-aligned factions and those wanting unity are not far from those you should consider against you...

Based on what was in the link zzeii gave us, it looks to me like the guild wouldnt be a "no-alignment" guild but a "helps both alignments" one. That is much more possible than not taking sides and it helps everyone instead of no one.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. And as far as the story FORCING everyone into an alignment, maybe the story involving so much conflict is there for a challenge to the players, and this is one of the ways to over come. Ryzom was supposed to be built so that WE mold the story as it goes. Are you ready to mold YOUR Atys?

My apologies for not noticing this first, your not trusting the kami followers was a small turn off. Unfortunately, being zorai, I too am partially biased, but not when it comes to the well-being of our planet. The way the kami followers are taught is that we must respect this planet and its inhabitants, and protect them as such.

It may be that we're being fed propaganda from both sides. I assure you that this is no "fence rider" guild. We're here strictly for the preservation of Atys, we are not to interfere with the battles between the factions. Each individual guild member is allowed to defend their own faction, but as a guild, we should all agree that unifying against a common enemy, like the kitins, is of the greatest importance. We must put aside these petty differences, even if it's only while our crises continue.

My goal and belief is that the greatest fighters of our planet, regardless of color or creed, should be unified to form a stronger front. We all may have our different beliefs, but without this unified front, we've already lost our war with the invaders. It's been shown that we can pull together to fight the kitins, it's happened already in the previous invasion events.

However, with the events unfolding around us the way they are, the invasions will only grow stronger and we will continue to become more powerless against them, until we're unable to defend ourselves again, and this time there may be no running, there will be no refugees, there will be no homins. Our world will be destroyed and the kitins will be victorious. We cannot allow another loss of that magnitude.

If we do not pull together, we may be forced to run again, or worse, we may be forced to extinction. Neither of these would be an outcome I'd desire. Unite, and stand strong, stand a chance. Or keep yourselves seperated by your petty differences and risk the end of your existance.

I've made my choice, make yours.

I've determined that the best way to protect our planet is without the Karavan. Consider this idea officially lost.
