helbreat you have a point but as the developer said its a though job.. things can go wrong.. its only 1,5 hour.. it are good times to take a brake and think about those kids you were reffering to etc.

i can understand your anger i have it to sometimes :) but think about it is it really that big a deal when you just let it go and Goesfraba? :)

We always strive to give you guys as accurate estimations as possible. Sometimes it's just not possible to estimate the downtimes accurately, due to unforeseen technical problems.

The way this works: We get a rough ETA from the developers over at Nevrax. We usually add 50% to that estimate in order to be on the safe-side.

The developers implement the changes and first open the shard to our CS staff. We then perform a series of tests and check for any problems. If we find any, the ETA of course is obsolete. The best way to get the latest ETA is through Klients. Our CS staff is present there at all times and will be able to tell you if they are currently experiencing problems and expect a delay to the original ETA.

other than that i dont mind the game having bugs. but this has been discussed over and over.. a good info side on the main site http://www.ryzom.com with a database of stuff like the basics of everything and the in depth patch notes would be nice..

so get a GM that also can maintain a website (no offence to current GM's they are great)
The website is maintained by Nevrax. Neither our GMs, nor myself have the ability to edit its content. But in regards to the patch notes, try this page: http://www.ryzom.com/index.php?page=releasenotes ;)

As for a knowledge database - We do cover the basics on ryzom.com, but when it comes to things like crafting and combat formulas, strategies and in-depth game advice, that's more something a fansite would cover. We have a row of excellent fansites out there with more detailed information about the game.

If we started loading our official website with this kind of information, we would not only hurt our fansites in their efforts to grow and develop their communities, we would also confuse visitors of the website, who do not yet have the game and are just looking for basic information. They would be overwhelmed by too much information and perhaps scared away, thinking that the game is too complex for them.

I hope this clears things up. ;)

I think the guides and gms need a crystal ball for chrismas gift so they can predict the future. Then maybe they can satisfy the demands of the community, maybe... ;)
