Unless it was very recently changed (i.e. since patch 1) you do not lose the items you have on the Packer unless you free it, even if it does die it will continue to hold any items you put on it and can take off items as you would normally.zunaah wrote:-There are pack animals in game currently. Go to any stable and buy one for 100 thousand dapers. Open you Animal window so you can control putting it in and out of the stables. You can also make it follow you around or stay put, but that's not recommended in a hostile area. If the pack animal dies you lose it and all it was carrying. So most people keep it in the stables. You can then just visit a stable, open your inventory and have access to a second tab for extra space.
what to expect on the mainland....

Re: what to expect on the mainland....
You should get forage and craft. Even if you think you won't need them you will.
Don't expect it to be as easy as the island it won't be.
If you like to solo expect it to be slow and tough.
If you like to group expect it to be fun and comparetivly fast.
Groups of two are just as good as bigger groups.
I know its boring there but, the island is like living with your parants the longer you stay the better off you'll be when you leave.
Expect to have fun it will be if you want.

solo is hard, sort of. mage solo is really slow, but if you join a guild that won't be a problem at all.
you can leave newbie island at lvl 1 and still be fine. that's what i did and i'm doing fine.
make friends and you'll have a great time. antisocials probably won't like the mainland(or ryzom for that matter).
you'll pick up on everything else once you come join us in the real game
Re: what to expect on the mainland....
Groups are:
FUN!
Faster xp than solo
CAN be better loot, depending upon the group
can become a good group of fun friends (we aren't talking about donating a kidney here, but you know what I mean)
And don't think twice about getting forage/harvesting, you NEED it. There are several VERY good guides in the player made guides section of the forums with MORE than enough info to take ALOT of the frustration of foraging away.
At least you won't be blinding aiming at every bush or tree in Matis lands *eyes bug out*
If you like someone you met, ADD them to friends. I normally ask or at least state that I am going to add the person, just out of courtesy.
And in MOST areas, asking questions is NOT concidered stupid, better to ask than NOT ask.
Glad to help, and Mainland is NOT the end of the world, just a LARGE step from noobland.
If you are at least level 35 in Mage/melee, and have a clue about the others, you will do more than fine.

Ive been on my own since I was sixteen dear. Thats how I now how much better it is to stay at home.euwest wrote:[lol, i wonder how long you stayed with YOUR parents...]
This doesn't even make sence. How do you solo in a group?euwest wrote:[solo is hard, sort of. mage solo is really slow, but if you join a guild that won't be a problem at all.]
That may be so but, it seems counter productive.euwest wrote:[you can leave newbie island at lvl 1 and still be fine. that's what i did and i'm doing fine.]
This is very true.euwest wrote:[make friends and you'll have a great time. antisocials probably won't like the mainland(or ryzom for that matter).]
The island is part of the real game if you dont finish the basic missions you will miss out on some easy fame and skill points.euwest wrote:[you'll pick up on everything else once you come join us in the real game ]
