Some games are designed to challenge...
Some more than others...
Some are designed for ease of play...
Some more than others...

Some people play games for a challenge...
For this is enjoyable to them...
Some play games for relaxation...
And challenge isn't relaxation for them...

Everyone has their own playstyle...
Just like everyone has their own opinions...
But what matters most, is for people to realize...
What they want most, and to go out and get it...

Life, as well as games, can change over time...
Much to the dismay or joy of people...
As long as we gamers can understand this...
And learn to apply it...
And know when to move on...
Then maybe...
Just maybe...
Everyone will find a place to call home...

I do wonder how your absent guild members would feel about such a post ? I still love the game also Zen, but this kind of post is just begging for people to shoot it down in flames. However I think this post is right up there for troll of the week. 4 stars! :p

Actually, you might wanna try out http://www.adom.de . Most difficult rpg i have ever seen, played it since 1994 and never finished it, but it's still fun, and imho it is, gameplay-wise, the most perfect action-rpg that is out there. Never before and after have i seen such freedom as this game allows, and in no other game have i lost so many brave warriors.

1. oooooo no this person is doing better than me in the game......
2. Someone has more time than me to level......
3. The game is getting harder "what is going on"
4. I cant get here.....I cant get there.......

Are the forums just for people to vent or cry or are they for positive communiction between people and guilds.

Its really sad. I mean what would have happend if G.W. (George Washington) was crossing the Potomic River and said to his men.....Dang those British are gettin hard to deal with...this sucks. Or hey we cant get over there the river is freezin........

Based on what i read from the game we just got done taking a severe butt kicking by some kiten who did not like us very much cause some fyros chumps wanted to go exploring in the PR.....that said......We are rebuilding this civilization back to where it was......I mean you think germany and france had it eazy rebuilding after WWII....NO... they worked hard and worked together.

Well thats what is happening here everyone has turn tail and run like little girls at the first sight of trouble.....sad..sad...

Well the only thing I got to say is you want some cheese to go with that wine.......

Life is hard games sould be harder..ANYTHING is possible if you try and I dont think some folks are tryin....most are cryin.

Thx some may know me as Zen from the CP guild in Zorai.....yes we are still out there, less members but we did not give up cause some left. We are working harder now...Helping people get to new lands is one of my highest prioritys no matter who they are...

If you dont like what i said then tell me.....but dont cry to me about stuff cause i just dont wanna hear it.
LOL sure sure, but I am not saving the indipendence of USA from englishmen and NEITHER I am rebuilding after world war 2, I am here to ENJOY A GAME I PAID FOR. I didn't paid to save USA from the englishmen, I would have played sid meyer colonization for it, or NEITHER I paid for rebuild or do the second world war, I would be playing Hearts of Iron for it.

I paid for a game that was of small communities thriving and growing fast as the meanie kitin invasion ended.... I doubt there will be another kitin invasion, ever. since at this rate, the homins of Atys will NEVER arrive to bother a kitin anymore.

the game is too hard for a casual player like me... I like to go slow in games I do not have too much time to play, and I don't want to waste countless hours grinding like an idiot to get.... 10 skill points. if you are tired of all people complaining. stop reading the forums, no one forces you to. as for me, I am going to cry a river.... and if your foolish enough to stand near me while I do it.. I will DROWN you into it.

I agree.. nice point in a sort of poetry style :D I want the game back easy, but not sacrificing the need of challenges of other people, you can do HARDER areas where people can find more challenging monsters that gives even better xp and rewards. I do not care.. but let us wander around in our starting regions and LET PEOPLE TRADE TICKETS. I want to see other towns of other cultures whithout having to max my DP in a futile attempt to even ARRIVE to one of them.

why people who WANTS challenging games MUST at all costs force it down on other people throats? they can have their challenging areas for themselves. I don't want to have anything to do with it.

could nevrax put a choiche of play style for each player coming in? one is HARDCORE PLAYER and the other is CASUAL PLAYER. if you click on HARDCORE PLAYER you will get monster tougher and they will give more xp. if you click on CASUAL PLAYER the monsters will be easyer but give less xp.

Zen has a valid point, and that is that the actual usefulness of the forums is being severely crimped by the incessant whining.

Then again, this is a forum, on the internet no less... should I simply resign myself to this fact, or am I right in wishing the useful/community posts weren't completely swamped?

Referring to complaints as "incessant whining" is derogatory and seems to dismiss all disagreement with Nevrax policy as both useless and unimportant. Would it be better if everyone who had a problem with the state of the game just cancelled their subscription immediately and left without looking back? Somehow I doubt Nevrax would think so. Most people complain not just to hear themselves speak about subjects that mean nothing to them. People complain because they're invested in the subject and want it to meet their vision for "fulfilled potential" (or even "good enough"). That's the crux of it, and the fact is that not everyone derives joy from the same thing. That's not exactly news, but there seems to be a great deal of "us versus them" bile being thrown around the boards between those who are satisfied and those who were satisfied (this board was 99% positive prior to Patch 1, if you'll remember).

I've agreed with quite a few of your posts, Aelvana, and usually your tone as well. If you're now prepared to refer to every dissenting voice as an incessant whiner, however, then be equally prepared to be referred to as a fanboi/fangurl yourself, though not by me. Will it be true? Very few generalizations are, and that's why it's best to avoid them whenever possible; the moment you resort to generalizations is the moment you become one. There are few internet terms I've come to hate more than "fanboi/fangurl," but "whiner" is getting pretty darned close (I also hate "uber" now, but that doesn't really apply here).

I think it's just best to take the disagreements with a grain of salt right now. Odds are it will end soon, because we're only two weeks away from the anniversary of Patch1+a month, and most of those invested people who've hung on by their fingernails this long will be letting go when their subscriptions run out. I'm sure the boards will quiet down dramatically then. I feel I have to say this, though: if there were one thing this game had that no other MMO I've played did, it was a mature playerbase. Now that it has turned upon itself, however, even that is gone. I never expected everyone to agree with me, but this awful "us against them" mentality reminds me of all the nasty "EQ is perfect, AC is trash," "WoW is wonderful, EQ2 is garbage," "XBox Rulz, Gamecube sucks" close-minded spite that I've seen on every other board. Disregarding someone's opinion, let alone slapping it with a backhanded insult, is dehumanizing; that's true regardless of which "side" anyone happens to be on.
the actual usefulness of the forums is being severely crimped by the incessant whining
I hope that comment was made out of frustration with people who have purposely provoked it with trolling, name calling, and other bad behavior. If it was, then none of this post applies to you and you can feel free to disregard it. If it wasn't, if you really do think that all positions other than yours are simply whining and, therefore, wrong...well, it's going to get pretty lonely up there on that pedestal. I've seen a few of the people who are already up there, and they don't appear to be great company.

Ok Jenuviel that was long but , the fact remains that some people like to trash talk. They dont care what and they dont care who. I hate that. I realy hate that. Whining is complaining without positive correction. This is somthing that I will not tolerate. Although, I do try to make my retaliation fun for me and discouraging for the whiner so they are not encouraged to repeat the same behavior.
