And, (apart from boosts), when did crafting start using focus and counterparts ?
I don't get first part too well myself (I mean, doesn't it always go like that already), but the second is easy to interpret and you basically answered to that yourself: if you use craft skill 15 with hp boost 15 and the quality of the product comes lower that than, it uses the amount of focus that the hp boost 15 does (though, if the exp gets all messed up still since the mechanics treat Q25 mats product made under a higher craft skill degraded, what's the point?) Although the word counterpart might throw someone a bit off here.

Yeah, this makes no sense whatsoever. So you can pick up an intermediate plan and make something with gold trim. Yippee. Any change? Nope. I think all this means in reality is that if you use a q100 plan and use q50 mats you don't get degraded stats (for non-crafters, if you use mats below your plan level you'd previously gotten much lower exp and often lower stats.)
And craft has always used focus; you just don't notice until you start making higher level stuff...
And no mention of reversing the crafting nerfs. I just don't think they get it.

Noticeable every time you make something with boosts
And I'm sure what threw ozric off here is the word "counterpart", as I wouldn't necessarily treat boosts as such either.

*edit* You are wrong. Crafting
with boosts uses focus, crafting
without boosts uses
0 focus.
What crafting nerfs ?

Desolis, the only whining on this board seems to be you, which you even recognized with your apology about your tone.
'higher level stuff' = including boosts. sorry for the confusion
'crafting nerfs' - read my thread on crafting changes. summary, worthless apprentice overseer missions, ridiculously high grinding costs given mat cost changes, mektoub storage issues for stacks of mats required for grinding, and most importantly no acknowledgment of any of these as a problem so that lower level crafters are going to have real, real problems trying to advance.
i look forward to the stack fix. was truly annoying to log and discover i could either tp back home or destroy my mats...

I just love how fast they work on adjusting the game towards the players
opinions. No other mmorpg development team i have seen have been this
flexible.
Thank you very much nevrax for giving us hope back by showing that you
listen to your community!

I wonder why they dont give a little RP story with thoses missions, tree-like evolving.
Easy : first time you meet an overseer, you start talking, and with some Q/A he gives you missions of what you'll train it...
Example you want to be an armor crafter : after a little "triggered" talking, overseer ask you to craft 5 boots. Then he ask you to do sleeves, and say "go to trainer he'll gives you plan for it" and at the trainer, you're not confused with tons of plans, you get only armors plan (and some other stuff like counterpart brick of course).
And so on.
And to go further, you'll have to find better overseer/trainer.
See? you got instantly a "tutorial", a plot and a quest for beginning !!
