Im not gonna bother with this game if u cant try it out without enter billing information
Why can you not get verified for the trial with one of the alternative payment methods. Again you restrict the "FREE" trials to people fortunate enough to have credit cards. That's discriminatory.
haw I'm not going to give away my credit card number to you guys if your going to charge nothing. it's soposed to be free yet you want a dollar...that's going low..screw this game out.
If anyone who reads this and shows me a major mmorpg that gives you a free trial that doesn't require you to enter billing info, I will physically eat my hat. No kidding. I will take pictures to prove it. Once I find my hat that is...
Plus, if you actually bothered to read up on it, you would notice that the £/$/1 test amount gets automatically refunded almost immediately.

I'm checking it out now... if it turns out to be true then I'll try to find my hat

I agree that you're right on the US site, but I can't see any button giving me a free cd key on the UK site.

About as safe as amazon or any other mmorpg i would expect... Do you honestly think that all of the gamin companies would still be endorsing it if there were any accusations of fraud?

Glad to hear it; I hope you overcome your misgivings and join up. If you do and you choose fyros, try giving spriteh a /tell in game

Actually, its the billing system there using that requires the $1, others only require a $.01 (aka paypal) and its a test, so it actually is CANCELED before the transaction is completed.
Actually this was how the initial Neocron did my account, come to think of it, so did EQ when it was released almost 6 years ago.
Every single one charged a PENNY and was CANCELED before it actually hit your account.
ALL online games require the CONSENT of someone 18 years of age or older, so if your not 18, you have to have a parent or guardian help you get a bank card.
Thus, credit cards are the same way, all cards require you to be at least 18.
So its an age check more than anything else, its NOT discreminatory, its just life, keeps lawsuites down.
Long run, FREE TRIAL IS FREE, just you have to prove your age or that you have someone of consenting age allowing you to play.
If you don't like it, nothing can be done to fix it no matter how bad you complain about it, billing is billing, age check is age check, go to a bar and see if you get carded at the door.
WOH you need an ID.. drivers liscense or personal ID.. wait lets call that discrimination, because they require some sort of proof of your age.
Better yet, the afterhours clubs, where you have to be 18 or older to get in.. wait here comes a 12 year old without supervision, lets just let him in without asking.
Any game that is MA as in mature audience (aka this game shows females and males in undies, has violence, and people with very 'colorful' language) REQUIRES BY LAW a contract stating you are atleast 18 or have parental consent, thus credit check.
Geesh, if you ever play online, you would know these.

just a small note:
Nevrax sends you an e-mail 3 days before they do any billing. They don't try to hide the fact that they are gonne charge your CC.

I will probably buy Guild Wars , coz it don't have any problems and there are much better community.
OMFG TEHY DONT COUNT BEKAUZE TEH GAMEZ ARE FREE BUT J00 HAEV TO PAY FOR TEH ADDONS AND TEHYR NOT TRIALS

Plus GuildWars doesn't have any problems because its not out yet; check the
website and see the huge letters "BETA WEEKEND EVENTS"
Secondly,
The "free" trial is only free if you do NOT continue playing
Another person who doesn't understand the meaning of the word "trial"... The "trial" is free, but the rest of it isn't. Hence, the "free" "trial" is in fact "free".
</sarcasm>
By the way, I apologise incase I offended or upset anyone; I am slightly inebriated, and am not normally like this.
