I was working with a GM, trying to get my "newly dug mats won't show up in inventory even though no old mats are there" problem solved in Yrk 1. I'm a L63 melee L84 forage who just finished re-leveling up last night and hasn't been able to get the mat issue straightened out so I haven't ventured far from Yrk 1.

I prospect and can't get new items I dig into inv. Then I try and dig up various amber glowies in town literally right beyond the fencing of Yrk 1, trying diff ideas with the GM so that they'll show up in inv. A fellow guildie eventually joins me, trying to help my inv/mat issue by prospecting for me, doing ground care, etc., but nothing works.

The GM tries but can't give a definative answer, and before the guildie and I know it, growling gingos and vigorous raguses are spawning and respawning *right near the Yrk 1 town fencing.* Growlings right at the Yrk 1 fencing Both of us almost die. (Pre-patch I have been cornered solo by 2 Scary Gingos and survived, with my melee-maximized char.)

We're healing each other and by the time I can get my pick out of my hands and grab my q70 weapon I'm 3/4 of the way toward dead. More doggies join the fight. I put healing aura on for both of us (teamed) after using up my self heal and healing/being healed by my guildie. I finally look in sys info and the XP is a *complete joke.* I think I got 41 XP for one type of mutt? I also could swear that I saw one of the vig raguses con with only one star, lol. I flee into town and he follows after me saying, "Hey! Don't leave with that healing aura!" Lol.

This game has gone downhill in a burning ball. I am not sure what level my comrade was but he had Fear 3 (gingos immune) and even at that could only send one ragus away for a few seconds.

jivalax wrote:Wow, sorry you guys are haveing such a hard time of it. Spent all last night leveling on Vigilent and Vicious kips. Since I am about level 70 they are the mobs that are level apropriate (they drop the q60-80 stuff). Only got 1,000 xp, but I could chain em all night. Hope you have better luck soon.
I'm with Jivalax.. dunno why some people are having such a hard time.. I'm lvl 190 and I was getting 2222xp with a group of 9 ppl and we never died last night. We could kill the creatures in 1 minute or so.. and we pulled for hours non-stop. No problems here..

Seems that all the high level groupers are having a wondeful time.

Well Jiv said she was lvl 70 and soloing 1000xp .. thats not bad at all! I found that I could do that.. maybe slightly more soloing. You just have to find the right mob for your lvl.

I can still solo what I used to, normally. I take on Vig Kizoars at fourways in the burning desert. I can handle one maybe two before stopping to rest. And then out of no where, one will dodge every single attack excpet those that happen to do less than a quarter of my normal damage. It's these freak occurances that ruin it.

EDIT: The patch today should fix this.

Im level 45 melee...and im havin a ball...once you find the mobs you can handle you usually find the ones that drop pretty nice xp on ya also. I was 40kdp but started fighting cloppers at my same level sure its a bit risky, especially if you dont plan ahead but dp cleared after killing five or so of them.

I'm having no problem with the patch....I strongly believe the change in patch 1 that made mobs die quicker is directly related to the raid engine that went online and we all await anxiously for the first ones to occur. If the melee stayed the way it was before patch 1 people would be spending way too much time killing one attacking mob while the others in the raid would be overtaking the cities. The way it is now the mobs drop faster and use less stamina so we can handle 250 plus of them baring down on a city.

*shudders*

I hope everyone gets good at taking mobs...I shiver at the thought of a raid at this point.

well i am not complaining i was getting the xp i was just dieing too i just dont have anyone to talk to in game any more.
i have been in some good groups and i think i am starting to get used to thisnew patch grant it my group didnt get 2222 xp but i have ddone decent without racking up a ton of dp i am still a big fan of the game that is why i am still playing and grinding out xp. i did notice it was harder to get xp solo than in a group pre patch but once i joined a group bam 3k easy every kill easy. the thing for me was it was easy and u got a lot of xp. now i just got to learn what i can kill and what i cant. i figure i am ok as long as i am not looking for 3k a kill in groups any more.
hehe 5 min till patch
ps i definantly plan to keap playing this game

I started playing again after the mini-patch. I left the gates of Pyr with great fear and trepidation, expecting my level 32 melee char with store-bought equipment (nothing great, believe me) to be slaughtered by the first suckling yubo that cast it's malevolent beady little eyes at me. Instead, I found it wasn't all that much different from pre-patch. I can still solo yubos of most variety, Izzams up thru prime, and even vulgar kippee (though it takes all I've got to kill one). I haven't died yet, though I've been cautious and stayed near Pyr. I also kill Caprini and so on. The only drawback I've seen is that combat is so fast that it's less tactical then it was before, and skills such as attack after dodge or after critical hit would seem to be less useful. I'm also not sure that my magic spells such as slow are working properly or even at all.

I have no idea if this is also the case for higher level chars. This comment pertains to my experience ONLY.

I'm enjoying the game. My subscription remains at the six month level for now.
