woot! Finaly positive patch notes. Im in agreement with everyone.
Im a lv 40 fighter. I can hardly out of a settlment and i get eaten by gingos. But i dont care. Im loving the chalenge of picking my path and im looking for ward to more gaming when im not so tired.
I do have to say i think its a LITTLE over the top but its along the right lines.

I love the improvements to combat - far faster and more exciting now and I can still get 3k xp in a group of 2 or 3 people. Only possible improvement I'd like to see is to make shields slightly better.

Thats the spirit!! Maybe the game isn't doomed after all!
I really hope some harvesters keep doing what they do best, i just started harvesting, it is really hard, but we have to keep harvesting to keep the others up and going

*grins* Finally some people with the right attitude. I'm tired of all the shouting and fist-shaking. It spoils the fun for the rest of us. Why can't they just chill and enjoy the game?

Too easy?! the game was TOO easy?!?!?!?not all ppl have a whole day to spent on a game and i will get 250 in one skill may be in 4-5 year this way....this patch should have made the game esier not harder...
just my opinion anyway harvest or craft r now impossible...

problems the walk out of the citys is a joke where as before i could take on 2-3 gingos/rags now just 1 attacks me and within seconds i'm dead! this is bad game play,i have all the gear and weapons skillz but it aint worth s**t now we got this darn patch!.
And
Yes i have given it a good play and just cannot get anywhere,the patch has put this game back and if not put right will find more and more leaving!,
I spent two weeks 4-6 hrs a day trainning up my skillz in noob land only to find it buggerd up by this patch-someone has slipped up at best all i can do is get me pick axa out and dig some....that should be fun!.
now then you guyz who like the patch....are you from early beta!!....Hummmm
THIS IS A NEW GAME BEST FIX IT GUYZ OR FACE MORE GOING ELSE WHERE!
PC GAMER RATED THIS GAME AT 64 %.....At the moment it's a 45%er.
Lineage2 & WOW Beta are here soon!---might be a better bet...

I just reread the Chapter 1 storyline content doodah on homepage and ill put this wee bit here.
Increasing danger from wildlife
Animals are reported as being more aggressive and tougher than before! Officials put it down to an increase in goo concentration in the atmosphere which influences the creatures' genetic make-up. Consequently all animals inflict significantly more damage than before. What's more, deranged giant animals that haunt the darker corners of the world have undergone blood-chilling metamorphoses and appear to be gathering new minions around them. These awesome creatures may have looked pretty wicked before, but now they'd freak the bravest warrior out of his boots
now this is good news as it also states that there is regular patches (chapters) which would mean in theory there will/may be calmer times and less kitin danger ahead
anywho this is how i find the patch so far
after testign with my elemental mage of level 51 for last few hours I have discovered i can solo baying gingos for a nice 2.5k xp. with one person healing me at a level of round 40 i think we were getting 1.7k xp. not to bad really people have all jumped into the patch and ran to the last mob they killed and got splatted. There running right into a pack of Gingos thinking ack i can wipe these out no probs but not anymore heh So now you have to think a little bit more and be aware more. My advice is approach it like you approched newb land with caution testing which mob u can do which u cant untill you find that mob again that gives u that elusive big xp your searching for
its out there just look.
So all in for me its a boost as it was getting boring hitting 5555555 (blind) all the time killing ocyx 100lvls above me for 3k and making stupid amounts of dappers (not that im complaing bout that of course now hehe).
Now i have to think about the game more again and be carfull. ever went near goakeths layer yet in pyr >.< i never even got to 75 meters till i was a carcass :<

I too think this patch was a good idea. Call me strange but when I saw they had an 8 year storyline planed I said "great that means the game should be hard and possibly be a challenge over the period", needless to say when I started leveling so quick and seeing others really powering thru them I was a bit worried that the challenge might only last 6 months. I will note that the damage increase seems a bit extreme but I'm using my imagination and connecting myself into the storyline which sees us as a group of champions facing of against powerfull foes and overcoming the odds making our victory(if we survive the maniacal plans of the treacherous Yobo's who I suspect are playing weak and dumb to lull us into a false sense of security *theory based off their complete lack of respect of us by peeing on us while we rest/sleep!*) all the more sweeter.

Foraging reaks, melee exp reaks, Patch 1 reaks.
Melee example.
We take a full group of Elite from our guild. 9 Beta Veteran guys and gals over level 150 in 2 or 3 classes with supreme mats armor and weaps.
We go to the easiest hunting group there is in matis for our level. ( tower bridge outpost)
Mobs are hitting for 1000 to 1300 and dodging like crazy since affliction spell wont hit unless trivial experience (max 4 levels above spell).
Typically their are 2 or 3 deaths per pull oynx pull in Towerbridge in matis. This doable but barely. Forget actually travelling and having to fight your way past something.
This patch was a huge snafu but the most upsetting part is the ryzom management would release this steaming pile fece. This really says terrible things about the management and how they feel about the client.
