can you describe it in more detail? what type of gingo was it? What level were you? how many did you get attacked by? What kind of HP did you have and armor? What kind of damage were you doing?

The biggest problem is the game was released with a soloable play style, and now they are completely changing the game dynamics to be much more grouping oriented. The game beta tested for a over a year and they just now decide to make these huge changes. Some people bought the game simply because of the solo aspect of it, and thats now gone.

Those people will be leaving, or changing their style to match the games requirement for grouping.

I just jumped into the game to respec ral quick to patch and respec...I ran outside of Yrk becuase I had heard that MOBs were Hitting very hard. The Gingos just oustide of YRK hit for 137hp...I am lvl 64 Melee and took them down easily but they took a few hunks out of me. I dont even want to see what a baying Gingo can do now. One of my guild members was saying that he could not even make it the FG border solo he is lvl 70 melee. I guees you a had better stay on newb Island till lvl 40-50 now

I can give you an example. I'm 53 melee with 800 some HPs (crummy armor). I grabbed a vigorous gingo, it died pretty quick, faster than before but I took some damage. (minimal xp of course). Then another vig started on me and before I really got going on him, a scowling joined in. damage was around 137 vig and 183 scowl so in 3 rounds of hits I was dead.

So if the answer is to form up a group in yrk before trying to go anywhere, I won't find this a fun game anymore.

I guess I'll keep track of forums for a bit and see how it goes but if I can't even run to Green Seed from Yrk without dying I can't see how this is going to be a fun game to play. I can't work off dp around yrk.

Maybe I'm overreacting, from just an early bad experience but right now it looks like I'd be spending most of my time working on dp instead of xp.

Before the patch there were times I couldn't make it to the FG border at level 100. So that much didn't change.

Still doesn't sound that bad, I think maybe people will rethink running around naked or with crappy armor on.

Umm, no. People will rethink wearing armor even more I think.

The defense from it is neglible now and high levels I've heard of no decay rate.

I'm a lvl 106 melee fyros. Before the patch i could solo a dangerous clopper and get reasonable exp. Now i barely survive and i get 1200 exp. This is pretty rediculous. On top of that, I can't even get close enough to taunt most of the time. I was agro'd by a large group of Dangerous cloppers from far outside of my taunt range. It kinda sucks that the only way to get good exp is to go after creatures that you can't kill.

I'm not that high (94 melee). Just logged out of game with 270k death penalty.

Group of 4 was just killed by 1 scary clopper, and an igara (didn't get to see what type before being killed by it).

I tried a malicious clopper solo since I was able to kill one solo before patch. It hit me for 366 damage a pop. At 94 and with my heavy armor, I have 1580 HP. Didn't take long at all to get my arse handed to me.

Unless you wanna grind on mobs that give 300-500 xp a kill (which I would do if I stil played an older style MMO) I'm thinking soloing isn't viable, and because grouping is more guild-related than anything, I'm not sure if there's really anything to do in game besides stand around the city and look at the walls.

If the new mob dynamics encourages open grouping, then maybe I'll reactivate my accounts. Not sure how I'll know though if I get locked out of the subscriber forums! If I get locked out, then I guess that's that =/

Gawd, please don't banish me to some other game. Let me play Ryzom in a reasonable way!

Can anyone comment on how much xp it takes for a level of melee at 100+ ? How many Dangerous Cloppers at 1200 xp per are we talking about? My melee is low enough that 500-600 xp seems just fine to me, just looking for some perspective.

Ok it looks like the trick now is to do as much damage to them as fast as you can. How effective were your armor? What type was it? What was the QL level of your armor compared to the mob? Were you using Parry or Dodge?
