Shazzy and Raynes are obvious fanboys who hate anyone whos says Ryzom is not something to invest your time and money in.

Fact is that it has great potential, thing is can you wait for the game to become what it can be.

:) Sorry didnt mean for it to come across as a flame.

The review I agree looks like hes definitely been reading the forums. However its nothing that alot of us havent been saying on the forums already.

The game is 75% there, its the 25% that will be its downfall.

Maybe they don't get paid to make awful reviews about games but that is what they come across as doing to the outsider, when they write totaly inaccurate reviews.
I'm pretty sure Desslock (Gamespot's reviewer) is a freelancer, not a full-time employee, so getting fired doesn't exist. I agree that the facts should be as accurate as possible, and if a reviewer consistently gets the facts wrong in a game, that person may not be the best person to review them. But without knowing Desslock's record (other than that he's played RPGs for a very, very long time), I don't think letting someone go for one bad review is in order.

And not to get all President Bush (or Clinton, if you prefer), but I doubt he lied. Lying would mean he deliberately misrepresented facts he knew to be true; I honestly doubt he had some ulterior motive in his mistakes. I'm sure they were just genuine errors.

Actually he did agree that his statement concerning when the game was released was misleading. Here is what was said:"

Fair enough - that wasn't my intention. Also, the servers may have gone live on the 20th, but I certainly didn't see copies on shelves until long after that. But the important thing is that the substance of the statement is accurate - there are still missing features including some fundamental gameplay features mentioned in the manual (PvP, mounts, Kami hostility, siege battles) - that's all I was trying to highlight, as I decribed in further detail after that opening statement.

I'm happy he has taken the time to address the coments concerning his review.
