The Bring A Friend Program.
Re: The Bring A Friend Program.
If downloaded version is cheaper, then the stores selling the game won't be able to sell em anymore
Re: The Bring A Friend Program.
I don't have a problem at all with retail units not being able to compete - why should I pay for their rent, shop window advertising and various assistants when it could all be accomplished by mail order or even by download. I get no benefit from retails stores, in fact the reverse: that GAME had an exclusive distribution deal (at least in the UK) has hampered this game as far as I can see.
Why should someone pay the same price for the game when they will never see the packaging, cd's and manual?
Maybe this amount doesn't make that much of a difference but the discount should still be there. You must agree that there are costs involved with high street retailers that are no longer incurred when paying for download. Why shouldn't these savings be passed on? Actual price is irrelevant - what might be cheap/expensive to you might be expensive/cheap to me.
Incidentally the updates are not free by any means but are paid for as part of the monthly service charge. Otherwise you've got a development team working away for nothing whilst the server hosts reap all the rewards - I really doubt that is the case.
note - this is just my opinion based on my purchasing habits, as I only buy games from stores as a last resort. If I can order it online then I will - I never download games however, as I like the packaging/manuals. I can understand you disagreeing just not sure I follow your logic at the moment.
