Bad Idea , respec's ruin MMORPG's.

And if the patch is actually aiming for balence, a respec is unecassary.

The community always crys if they dont get them, because the community is short sighted.

I disagree. Could you explain why it ruins MMORPG's?

This will be fine, as long as ALL SP's are returned when its reset. In Beta any SP not spent on actual skills were lost. Hate to see that happen this time as well.

One thing that comes to mind, what about starter kits bought with sp? Will they also be refunded and what about the skill level gained in that tree?

From my case, I bought magic with fight sp and am currently 81 in healing, I know I will loose the spells and need to retrain them but will I loose magic alltoghether and will I loose all the levels gained in magic?
If this happens, there will be a serious setback for me and my guild, since I'm the highest ranking healer in my guild.

Im certain that will be the case..

Personally i have a relatively low end char (high 40's harvest, 30ish fighting etc) but even at this point id say i have spent probably 100 SP unwisely over all the areas, and i wouldnt think its because im particularly dumb :) although some may argue that point...its just because its very difficult to get a grasp on how skills work in this game, and their effectiveness until you try them. Ive had some people say this works well, then when ive tried, its a waste of SP and vise versa..

Anywayz its been announced, so we all need to examine our setup and see what we wanna trade in.

Well I personally think this is good news though you do have a point with the balancing some things may get more expensive but some may also get cheaper :D either way it gives people a fresh chance to refine their characters.

That would concern me losing unspent points! I'm sure they don't intend on making us lose out, but accidents as we all know happen :( (loss of spawns) tho i gotta thank them for returning them ;) smart move!

only thing is there are definite ways to Min/Max characters which become evident the more the game progresses. The little mistakes we make as we develop define us as characters - with this SP refund, we'll end up with loads of clones who develop their characters in the 'right' way.

Eg if I had any sense I'd dump 1h sword and shield and go for 2h sword all the way as its totally more effective. And become like every other tank out there...

Definitly a good idea if they are changing a lot of things.
I'll be writing down what stanza's I want to keep for sure beforehand.

Its kind of funny that everyone is overjoyed at being able to respend all their Sp's and fix previous mistakes.
You will all make just as many mistakes again and probably more because all the balances etc are changing - you will never know what to spend it on because all the rules are changing.

Of Course Homin's will make mistakes all Homin's do its Homin nature :) Like when i just made 2 swords one came out Q70 the other Q30 so went to sell the Q30 but the 7 turned to a 3 and so i sold the Q70 by mistake but i swear some dodgy monkey magic there as it def was a 3 and not a 7 >.<

Im happy they have come to this decision give me an oppurtunity to maybe try something different now, might be better or for worse but hey thats the fun :)
