I am. It makes the mat specs totally worthless, now, and when they put in their longterm solution. Maybe they felt this was a neccesary fix, but they should have at least waited until they fixed the degrade bug. It's already nearly impossible to get enough materials to make enough equipment to hunt with, and now they've gone and made it harder!
You shouldn't nerf the bugs that help the players until you've fixed the related bugs that hurt the player so much more!

So you have made good use of skills that gave way too much exp and now you want a refund?
You have gotta be joking mate!

If you're going to make learned skills worthless, then there definately needs to be a skill reset in the SAME patch, not whenever a later patch is gotten around to.
Foraging needed a massive overhaul from beta 2, but all it has gotten is a few knee-jerk reactions here and there while melee-magic remains the ever important focus. We're not getting a revamp, we're just getting more knee-jerk slap-patches.
As I've been saying since the xp change in focus beta, yes Foragers get too much XP. But that is unfortunately all that Foragers do well. They don't supply crafters enough or appropriately, they can't effectively work on the rest of their skill trees. Their usefulness for quality gear rather than just camping named mobs? questionable.
It isn't so much that Foragers pull out too high quality materials, so much as that Forager XP is entirely dependent on quality and not nearly dependent enough on quantity.
But as in many forum communities, we see plenty of people loving nerfs because of class envy.
What is the goal for the economy? for Foragers? the goal needs to be kept firmly in mind or the game will become a mess of slap-patches that always create more problems and complications than they fix.

I'm just posting in support of this request; even though I never reached the point of buying the stanzas that are affected by this, some of my guildmates, friends, and fellow players did and they could become very discouraged if not treated fairly.
People should not be made to feel that every minute they spend gaining skill points could instantly be made worthless due to drastic changes made to the functions of skill bricks in which they invest these points.
Nerfs, if not handled carefully, can be one of the fastest ways to lose subscriptions in a MMORPG. Characters that can be reworked after a change are fine, but characters that must be rerolled due to a nerf are going to cause some people to quit, and those people obviously won't be bringing their friends in to the game. Giving back those skill points or allowing some form of "exchange for refund" after such changes to functionality will help Nevrax maintain and grow the customer base.
Setting a good precedent now, when a major, but necessary change has been made to the function of a set of skill bricks, will give players more confidence that their precious time will not be wasted and that they will be allowed to re-use skill points they have devoted to bricks that have been altered so much in function as to not remotely resemble the originals.

If they are going to allow the very people who got the huge advantage from design mistakes to reset their skills then to balance that they would have to remove a huge lot of exp from those characters too.
This also applies to the gross abuse of the blind skill by groups.
Of course those people who did benefit unfairly will scream bloody murder if they do.

Do not offer a skill reset.
If there was benifit from the skill, then you got what you paid for. I think it should be thought of as just another pre-requisite skill (like buying accel pros 1 to get to accel pros 2).
The skills were bought to advance your level, they were worth it then. Use all that aquired exp and now buy other skills.
And Varelse, you post in support of your friends who have bought the skills and may feel discouraged if they cannot get a SP reset? What about all the other foragers that are now quite far behind those that used that skill and have to progress at the now standard rate?

So where was the big notice that this was a design mistake? Every time you used a mat spec, did the sentence "This is a mistake! Don't use me!" flash on your screen? Everyone I know thought it was all working as designed. And let's be clear, I'm more upset about the loss of the quality upgrade -- which they said WAS intended, and was my only reason for getting all the specs. They removed the intended quality upgrade to nerf the exp gains instead of patching up exp gains as they should have, rendering this skill useless to fix an incidental 'design mistake' that they felt was inappropriate.

All I know is that my account is up on 10/28 and if this isn't either repaired or refunded by then, my account will not be active. The game was fun with mat specializations working, at least for me because I enjoyed the quick progression and nice accumulation of materials. Now all I see is a long slow harvest grind, a dearth of mats, not enough players to support a crafting career, and lots of death now that my formerly safe harvesting spots are being roamed by unkillable death beasts.
There are too many choices in the MMORPG market to stay loyal to one that out of all the possible bugs to fix, chooses the one that ruins the fun for so many of its players.

Hmm... My guess would be that those players will now progress at the standard, intended rate
. Or, they'll cry "no fair!" and quit the game.
I know some people will see it as unfair that many people got to take advantage of overly generous XP while they don't, but... well... I guess it depends on how you look at your long-term time in the game.
For example, personally, I'd rather play it the way it's intended and appreciate the challenge along the way, than know that I only got that far that quick because XP reward was set too high... But I'm wierd like that.

Absolutely. The xp reward for pulling multiple mats should be much higher. Before the change today, the decision for the "forager" was - "do i pull 1x mats, with very little focus use, no danger at all, get max xp and am able to do this almost continuously"
or "do i try to get a few mats from the source, use quite a lot of focus, have a certain amount of danger, get around half to a third of the xp that i could, and have to spend periods regenning". Not surprisingly, some people chose the 1st option. But i wouldnt call them Harvesters.
