Couldn't there be a spot for the crafter to describe the item and what they used? Just a little description at the bottom of the info section, when you right click, would work out. Max so many characters for the crafter to say something, sorta like marketing themselves and the item, would be okay.

Well, custom titles/descriptions would be cool ya, but as a buyer I'd want to know the details; not some marketing ploy. Maybe they could organize by the max 2 or 3 stats? ie. Armor that is dodge-maxed, or armor that's protection-maxed. I dunno how the hell they're gonna address this... seems pretty complicated. I just know enough as a crafter to say that, as a buyer I'd be pretty bewildered by the options. Maybe they could have options to group-by categories like crafter name, item name, etc. In other mmorpgs it's simple 'cuz a certain item is the way it is... no variations. There's a lvl5 sword, lvl10 sword, etc. and you know that each 'named' item will have the same stats. Here, it varies depending on the mats used. I really think the only solution is to at least make those stats visible to the buyer somehow, even if it means drilling through billions of items... at least the info is available.

Whatever happened to this:

* Player Vendors (NPCs you can offer your goods for sale through)

from this thread: http://ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1013

The way that reads, I interpret it as an NPC vendor that I own, sell my gear through, and other people can only buy from. Is that not how it is going to work? Or am I just having visions of grandure?

Delusions I think... from all I've heard, there will be NPC 'shops' at every city where you can post your items for sale. Then, players can buy them from the NPCs for a certain amount of time before you have to take them back. As far as I can tell they're public, and not 'owned'. I'm not sure if their inventory is shared between other NPCs, or if each maintains its own inventory.

see i think that'd be really cool. buying a store front!

imagine guilds, with a store front outside their guild house.

imagine millionaire crafters buying a shop, and employing NPCs to sell their goods there.

imagine having NPCs that you could set up consignment(spellcheck) deals with.

now not everyone would be able to do this. shops and store fronts would be very expensive. but anyone could use the NPC street vendors. and they wouldn't sell everything you gave them, only what you told them to sell.

last night i made over 300 earings. i don't want other people to have to dig through that crap to find the good stuff. :(

hmmm... well that could be interesting... by "post" i take that to mean you "give" your wares to the NPC and do not recieve anything until the item is sold or the item is returned to you. Additionally, as long as their inventories aren't shared with the "normal" merchants (i.e. weapons vendors, armor vendors, materials vendors, etc.) it could work out fairly well, as long as there is enough 'shops' to support the plethora of crafters... and the crafters don't do silly things like post all of their grinds to the merchants.... =\

Right, but then we're back to the original crux of my post... how would a buyer be able to discern the in-depth stats for each item that are derived from the mats used to craft?
