There is one thing which bothers me about the sky (have you noticed the shooting stars?). We don't know the names of any of the four predominant objects. A small thing, I know and not nearly as important as the fixes needed but it is something that crosses my mind everytime I look up at the sky.

As far as names, the nebula seems to be a runner or a woman looking into a glowing ball and so I call it The Seeress.

The others I call the ringed world, the moon and the blue star or sun.

Ooooh! I hereby declare the name of our moon as.... Jhaan's Moon.

All of Atys will gaze upon the site of Jhaan mooning you all.

There is one proof that the planets have to be translucent!
When you exit the game, you´ll see an exit-screen for a few moments showing some rocky cliffed landscape and above the same planets as in the game.
But this picture is not made from game-graphics or a simple screenshot. It´s a painted pic in which you can see that the planets are transparent even there!

I mean, when this is a Photo-Shop kind of like pic, why are the planets like that, if not for a reason?
It can´t just be by accident or sloppiness!
I thought earlier, maybe the whole sky is just an illusion but knowing now that one can journey to the other planets, this theory fails...
Or is there more at it than one can think of now???

Any suggestions?

btw: Hoth would be a better name for an icy moon like this, don´t you think? ;) ;) ;)

I'm not sure, but I think I *might* remember something in the lore about the astronomy. Does anyone know the lore really well to have this handy?? My mind just might be playing tricks on me. I'll see if I can't go dig it up, but if anyone knows.. cool ( :

I fully agree, notice that the Title of the game is: "Saga of Ryzom" with a subtitle (almost) of "Atys". I had come to a similar conclusion before I had noticed the extra planets in the sky.

Which? The one where the Great Dragon brought us to Atys, away from our homelands?

Or the one were Elias took many of us during the Kitin Wars? :D

The Great Dragon brought the first homins TO Atys FROM another planet:

The homins lived on an impoverished planet until the Great Dragon, the prince of darkness, came and seduced them with visions of crystal waters and a land of plenty. After leading them to Atys . . . .

Um.. duh! Thanks for saying *exactly* what I just said.. *sighs and shakes head* "brought us to Atys, away from our homelands" just strikes me as saying "to Atys" and "from our homelands".

i thought the paddle thing was just for what's-his-face so he'd have something else to do while harvesting...

but i guess it could be a representation of your relationship with our sun... maybe. :?

Ever thought about the great Dragon being a ship or so?
Or the Core of Atys because it is presumably not natural (this does not exclude the first thought...)
And the Dragon destroying the world could mean some kind of self destruction....

Btw, Atys could orbit somekind of a pulsar, explaining the regular swelling and shrinking of the sun.
And keep in mind that plants always direct theit photosynthetic units to the lightsource, so that the Roots might be the part of Atys opposed to the sun.
