starter missions (quests), are meant as tutorial to game and actually guides you to magic amplifier crafting.
Thats why you were (probably) suggested that you should of stayed Silan a bit longer.

The only one good thing in UNI - is that you can switch this tab off. There is nothing else that is good in UNI. Tested.
And about population - yes, it's low compared to any of other MMO game. And yes, it will be big problem to find team to do some levels. Especially in the early and middle and high levels. And even if you in guild.
Solution - or to be strong and learn to practice game solo (you can call it survival horror mode, it's not easy but posible) or to create 1-254 support characters (alts) and to begin to play Atlantica Online style (or even may be C&C style).
Why? because despite all these drawbacks - it's a good game.
And the current population can still do almost all the tasks that the game can offer to them. So the population is sufficient.

Just ignore radio lalala (jwenting), he's got an opinion on every subject even if he's completely wrong.

Well, I did tell you that saying something "sucks" in Uni is the best way to get a bad start with the community.
Bad impressions get you a long way, here.
It's just as valid on the forums... some are overly reactive to that term and others similar.
Iala, tone it down, will you ? We don't want to make the community's reputation any worse, do we ? We usually don't bully newbs around here. It's against our policy. We only show them the door if they dislike the game enough to say it sucks. But one can hate the newbie missions and like the mainland or the other way around.
About the population... well... it's supposed to be a small, helpful, tight knit community... I insist on the supposed because you most likely didn't get the most shiny example of it. You've stumbled on a raw underground gem. Right now, it needs a real good polishing, though.
