Yes, the majority don't care but some start getting incredibly hostile when you're in character and that character has opinions that don't stroke with theirs.
Some even start stalking you out of game.

If you had the misfortune of stepping on some RL-Jerks toes, then I´m truly sorry for you.
But please, just let Newbes make their own experiences and find their own way around. There´s no use in scaring people away with your personal "horror-stories", as bad as they be. Again, I´m sorry for your troubles and words of advice are completely okay, if justified. Which in your case I do believe them to be.
Just don´t blow things out of proportion.
There are SOME people who obviously do have a problem with RP and those who play it.
Which sadly is the case in most MMORPGs out there. So, you could say: "This is the Status Quo."
Condemning the whole Community for this is just plain wrong.

Everyone should just build his/her own opinion of things, so just let them

It's amazing to see the difference between Aniro and Arispotle. On Aniro, Zorai were the first to have a government, certainly the strongest of all 4 civilisations, only few months after the release.

Universe is by default a OOC channel, BECAUSE it is reserved for QnA and Ryzom-related discussion (which doesn't include flaming and the occasionnal trolls who get shot down and fed to Bajam nearly on sight.)

I've only been absent for 2 weeks, it seems almost impossible to me that roleplayers have suddenly started getting persecuted by the majority. Iala is not part of the majority. That character has a habit of taking her own situation and blowing it out of proportions by applying it to everyone else, which makes the whole community look bad when, in reality, only a handful of people are involved.

And by the way, if people start making OOC or even RL threats... should be time you consider contacting the CSRs and sending in tickets, provided you have proof of such actions. It IS a serious offense. But stirring the pot in a newcommer welcome thread will NOT solve any of your personnal problems with the community.

Yeah, its kinda weird. On Leanon the poor Zoraï are the least populated race.
And their "government" is at the moment struggling to survive. For some members have left.
