I greatly enjoyed the HD+3D version of "Avatar" and think it's the perfect film for "Saga of Ryzom" fans. There is now an "Avatar" fan site at http://www.naviblue.com with many great features. I recently made the following post there. Let's hope the people running "Saga of Ryzom" are inspired to help create a "Ryzom film" -- Atys would translate very well to the movie screen.

Thanks,

Avatar MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game)
by Amphiaraus ยป Sat Jan 09, 2010 6:47 pm

I have read that James Cameron is planning an Avatar MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game), in which players would assume the role of one or more human or Navi characters and interact in a computer simulation of Pandora.

While waiting for this MMO I suggest trying out the MMO "Saga of Ryzom", which in many ways provides a virtual online world comparable to Pandora. The Flora, Fauna, and four player-character races in "Saga of Ryzom" all remind me of "Avatar".

See http://www.ryzom.com for details. Free trial accounts are available. Servers in English, French, and German are available.

I play on the English language "Arispotle" server. Ryzom is well known for the friendliness of its players and for being a challenging, adult-level MMO with combat, crafting, resource gathering, and magic all simulated in a detailed and enjoyable way -- as compared with the oversimplified nature of many other MMOs on the market.

Sample Ryzom trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TK2UDSFN ... re=related ... re=related

Still -- I can't wait for the "Avatar" MMO !!!

1) Clarifications on "Avatar" MMO, from http://www.naviblue.com forums --

"I believe these were from rumors that the Current Avatar Game was going to be an MMO, it is actually just a prequel with MMO-style elements such as Quests, and Experience points, so far there is no Avatar MMO being made, if there is, no one has heard of it as of yet"

"Yeah, I definately read somewhere that James was going to make Avatare: The Game into a MMO - but Ubisoft suggested it would cost far too much and it would take too much time."

2) Ubisofts "Avatar" game has some MMO-like properties, but is not an MMO. For details see --
