I am not sure of all the intricacies of this conflict, or how long it has gone on, but I will give you credit for keeping up on the attack with no hope of winning (battle from about a week and a half ago). However....

Have you tried diplomacy? Talking to a guild HO or GL about transfering an OP to you from a guild that has shrunk or whose members only play from time to time? I am not trying to be mean, just asking a question or two in all honesty and seriousness. If an OP is transfered to you under a "contract", of sorts, then you would have help defending it if it is attacked while in your care.

Norb is correct in that this sort of tactic is perfectly valid in war. You feign attacks until the defenders grow lax then you launch a real offensive and take them unprepared. Of course suicide charges are not good practice but it's still historically accurate.

However this isn't really war is it? It's a game and people have their own lives outside of it. People have work to do or school to attend and staying up late in order to defend an OP at some odd hour is something people with lives find difficult to do. To say that people should be willing to just put up or shut up is being incredibly inconsiderate to the lives of others.

I applaud the actions of the CSRs because they are maintaining a level of consideration and fairness for people who's lives are being abused by false attacks. OP wars were designed to be important guild events, not a method of convenient harassment. I realise Norbs tactics are sound for real war but the tactics of the CSRs are infinitely more sound for being considerate to the real lives of the people playing.

War has no consideration, but this isn't real war with real armies that are employed to be willing to fight 24/7. It involves people with other lives, who play as a hobby, and as such they should respected and allowed to engage in battles as a fun guild event, so for one man's idle amusement.

That's just my two dappers on the subject anyway *shrug*

In a real war, if Norbs tactics were to be used, he would not respawn to come back for the next round. There would end up being dissent in his ranks and a whole other battle in his own right to keep these attacks going. Since this is a game, he can run these attacks without all the side drama and expense that would go with it and pressure him.

The tactic is not really valid without its corresponding baggage. It is more akin to harassment. It is too bad that the game mechanics allow this to happen in such a way.

right Nitrouss...

check your facts, even wars have rules. Usually regarding civilians, but that's not the point. Even in war there are rules and there is common sense.

I would like to agree with Nit-wit here in that it is a game.
And I think you'll agree that when I feel froggy and get my lazy ass off this hill I can come grief you in PR and you won't have **** to say about it right??
Using multiple declares as a confusion tactic is one thing, guilds declaring over and over with just one member popping up in region to say hello is total crap and it is harassment.
This community is way too small for people to go around acting like asses.
