I did not even think of that....that would not be something I would like to see either.

I'm sorry guys but choosing not to do the missions won't solve the issue.
If missions aren't balanced everyone will be solo mission running since leveling will be faster that way.

So what happens when missions are the optimal way to level? Guys like me that enjoy Hunting will be screwed since the entire server pop will be mission running or solo digging.

I've seen this before, Can some please toss me some info on how to actually cancel my sub? I don't want Bibit to charge me again.

I can't believe I wasted so much time trying to get people to play this game just so the Devs could Toss in a Wowified hand holding mission mechanic (for leveling).

I'm even more let down that you guys are just rolling over and letting these guys F**K you like this.

What's next set classes and Instanced dungeons and raids?
Maybe battlegrounds? laterz

Oh come on, we do not know what the new missions are like. You can't judge them yet, much less cancel your subscription over them.

ffs, all that was said was there would be missions, nobody even said they'd be the optimal way of levelling...
We have created new fight, harvest and craft missions to help guide new players from level 30 to 50. As well as this, we have also included four new (long) fight-oriented missions for each civilization - these are aimed at players from level 50 to 100.
this means: there are missions guiding players up to 50 (woopty do, that's like, a full 2 days work, if indeed these missions take the players all the way), and there's special, long term missions aimed at players 50-100...

Atm the shock of new players coming from silan onto the mainland was just too great for most.

I strongly suggest waiting to see them ingame before you decide to leave. Your sub will last long enough anyway without being charged again, Bibit charges you the day your sub runs out, not a week in advance.

And while you´re at it, take a look in your crystal ball for me, who´ll be the next Football-World-Champion, please.
Man, calm down.
You may rage all you want IF what you´ll predict will come true, but getting all worked up and heaping abuse on us and the Devs now won´t change a single thing. *shakes head*
It´s just wasted time and energy.

IF this game get´s "Themeparked", I´ll gladly join you, but such behavior at this time is simply ridiculous.

heh - that's really a problem with Silan though. Better to fix the problem at its source rather than mess up the mainland to compensate. :)

This is Directly taken from patch notes:

"After our recent rework of the missions on Silan, we are now continuing the work on the Mainland. We have created new fight, harvest and craft missions to help guide new players from level 30 to 50. As well as this, we have also included four new (long) fight-oriented missions for each civilization - these are aimed at players from level 50 to 100."

Sure this Helps new players up to 100 but will it stop there? Why should I keep paying a Sub if the Devs are going to add freaking SP Xp missions to ML? Hell Missions giving only Dapper and fame were one of the reasons I played Ryzom.

I'm paying not only to enjoy the game but to also help the devs create new content and add **** like zones and all the other stuff we want added to the game.

I've been reading your posts and I know what you guys want added to the game and I don't remember one of you asking for Silan type missions on ML.

Are the Devs even listening to you guys? I'm sorry Ryzoms going to "Wait and see" status for me I refuse to give the devs money to help them create silan mission on ML.

Sigh.. you're going to do what you're going to do, but I wanted to clear up some of the possible misinformation you seem to be distributing. Now, since we don't know the exact details of the missions until they are released, I can't say whether you are right or overreacting, but I'm leaning to the latter.

As your "Directly taken from the patch notes" indicates, I do not see any reference to XP. I see that there will be more information about how certain stanzas work and how to use them appropriately.. C'mon, I mean how often do you see questions about stanzas and their use in Uni.. think about it. And as far as civ missions go, well we already have those, so I don't know what the big deal is to have more variety.. As far as level indication in the release notes, that doesn't necessarily mean that XP is involved, it just means that those are the ranges of levels the missions will cater to.

As to missions in general, yes, it has long been a background request for missions to be involved. If for no other reason than to have some feeling of providing to the world. I mean how many characters have an involvement in the cities? Does that really make sense to be so detached from the civilizations and races that you have fealty to??

And, yes, according to the patch notes, the devs *are* listening to us and trying to make this game more enjoyable and more viable. Will this lead us down a path that makes the game another cookie cutter creation? Well, it's possible, but I don't see indication of that yet.

If you want to go away, by all means that is your prerogative. But you don't really need to have such a harsh backlash to something that doesn't even exist yet, and needlessly stir up emotions in the process.

Peace,
- Sui

Alot of hostility in this thread which is nice because it is all civialized. We all have different opinions about what we want to do and dont want to do in a game. The nice thing about Ryzom is that you HAVE A CHOICE. You dont have to go do missions unless you want the reward. You dont have to go do anything in the game that you dont want to. You can level nothing but harvesting and crafting if you wish, and master every land in forage and every craft and still be level 1 in every other tree. That is whats nice about Ryzom the ability to choose. So if you dont wish to try a new mission that is (FIGHT ORIENTED) to have alittle fun and help explain some stuff to new people that dont know what Double Spells are that they get at 100 or anything like that, then you have the OPTION to continue doing exactly what you are doing now and it wont effect you in the least.

This was my first MMO I ever downloaded and played because my roommate decided to try it out. He quit because he didnt have all those quests to lead him around by his hand and tell him what to do. I loved it cause it was the first game I played that I could do whatever I wanted to do in it. Several people found me out doing some pretty rediculous stuff and led me along and showed me things about the game that made it more fun for me and allowed me to finally reach my first Master Skill (Mistress of the Blade). Since then I have taken the knowledge and past it on to many young homins and got them started as well. I have done this so many times that I now only have one more skill to level with them and thats 1h Pistol and its almost too high. We will never get away from having to do this. The ability to play Ryzom like us Elder players do takes time to learn and takes teaching from us. We will continue to grind away at all those pesky skills until they are all 250 or the game dies or we die so I say bring on the missions. Dump millions of them around give those people something to do. I'm going hunting and I'm going diggin to master my skills the way I have(after i try out all the new missions :)

And as for the missions that you cant take mrp. click on it and it will tell you what you need to accept the mission...gold are things you NEED to have that you currently dont...and green are things you DO have. So set your goal and get a skill to that level then go back and grab it.
