people base can and will increase over time. This game although seems a bit wierd it is super addictive due to the fact that its all a mystery. It has every focus of a game you would want. You can forage, craft, amd fight and easily switch from one to the other.

The zones are challenging and the sheer idea that crossing into new lands is not just a port away is exciting as well. In due time more and more content will come. And with it a stronger player base will follow. I myself play in the zorai lands and everyday i see new people coming to the mainland.

One problem is this game has so much to offer in terms of making you character that people are staying long in the newb zones. Give it a few more weeks and you will be surprised of the turnout.

As for EQ2, well i hope you have the best video card and 1.5-2gigs of memory to play it. As for WOW, well thats gonna be a real nice game but it is a strong quest based game and has a young crowd following.

I wonder would i rather have a few player on my server that keeps growing and i get to meet, or would i like to jump into a game with 100,000 people crying and screaming and flooding zones. WOW will be a great game but personally the game is outdated, i did the eq thing, Ryzom is now the next great game.

And unlike the people that say there is not enough people, well you miss the point that who is here is no one less than smart people that are binding as a comunity. Well thx for you time, this is just my opinion. now got to go run and play.

Nuuk!

This is not true. Most (but not all) mmorpg's usually hit their high number between 6 months and a few years. This is especially not true when you look at mmorpgs that do not have an extreemly hyped launch.

heh heh heh - die Sims ... DIE!

What? :::fires a few more Amah's ML rounds into the EA Sims CD::: Wadda mean I have a problem with anger management?

BTW - to keep things on track ... SoR had me from the first byte. Maybe I'm a bad customer - there are some things that tick me off about the gameplay but they're not enough to make me want to quit. I don't ***** and whine about them. It gets too bad, then I'll pack and go. Can't think of anything at the moment that would be so bad.... Yep. I guess that makes me a bad customer.

You are right the game lacks of a solid population. And please the game is not "vast" at all.
Even though I agree some games grow as time goes on, I do not believe this will be the case for Ryzom due to the poor or lack of advertising.
Hopefully some magazines or websites will do reviews for Ryzom, making gamers interested in trying it out. Of course thats if Ryzom gets good reviews which I doubt very much.

Hum... where we're you in the last couples of weeks, theres reviews / previews and Adds of Ryzom in most of the "big" gaming sites (IGN, Warcry, mmorpg.com, Gamespy, etc...). Most reviews are more then positive, only bad comment is about the "bugs" and "lacks", but we get a free week for that, and the game is getting fixed.

Please dont leave :P The game is good, we need players.

Yeah, there has been advertising everywhere and Ryzom has been out awhile, I just think that with all of the "big guns" out right now such as, EQ2, and World of WarCraft that it's easy for people ot overlook even the most blatant ads. Does anyone get PCGamer, CGM, CGW, or Surge? There was 8 PAGE ads in those for them. I have subscriptions to all of them and I definitely took notice - how can you miss 8 /pages/ of ads.

So - I don't blame lack of advertising for small population, I'd like to blame the blindness people are facing by having EQ2 and WoW in the market at this exact same time. It's just easy to pass up something like Ryzom when those are constantly blinking in your face.

(I don't mean this as a flame/taunt/scolding/'yo mama' in any way shape or form)

I am surprised at many of the posts in this forum. I've played at various times of day and night. I've played during the week, and during the weekends. I've never had any problem finding someone who's online who didn't mind responding to some conversation. I've even had success when Region chat was dead quiet, to simply throw out an intentional mistell just to wake people up.

There may not be thousands of people in your region, but would you really want it? Do you want to fight 94 people over the same yubo? Or 200 people over the same excellent source? The only thing you actually could do with a ton of people online in the same region would be the crafting missions as they're timed on your completions.

I've found joy in this game with it's ingenious planet life! The animations that make this planet alive are the best I've ever seen! It sure beats the simple wave of flora that you find in most MMOs. The planet is interractive, you don't just have four walls and a mob to kill.

This game may not take 5 hours just to run from one corner to the next (Ok, only if you don't get mobbed or distracted), but the detail and variety you'll find packed into one region is beyond compare!

Just because of some issues that are now socially accepted among MMOs, isn't a reason to blow off a game. I am serious about the social acceptance otherwise you would not play them at all. I see so much whining from people who can't see the same things I do. I don't expect them to, but they must be playing a completely different game than I am, or play with their eyes closed or just want to complain.

There is enough in this game that for the initial month it's been out, it's doing pretty derned good for itself. Consider how much total down time the servers have suffered since release. Consider the number of broken or unplayable races/classes. Consider the actual lag? And yes, the lag has decreased since they moved the NA server farm from Europe to NA. Why you want it to move back to make regions more populated just doesn't make a good argument.

The Devs are working their butts off to please the community. They've done an incredible job with a fantastic game. I keep finding new and exciting things every time I log in!

I say move on to WoW or EQII to complain about those games. I've just seen so much complaints and not enough compliments.

So Devs, I'd buy you a few rounds and then some for a job well done!

Puk

That comment is very untrue. I have tested, and still do, the EQ2 beta on a sub par machine with 750 Mhz, 512 meg ram and Geforce 4ti w/128 meg and it ran with no problems. Even with the low settings the world was alive and had a better felling then I ever had with Ryzom. I have also tested it on a 1.4Ghz maching with 1 gig of ram and a Geforce Fx w/128 meg of ram.

I couldn't say it better myself. The Community is awesome, region chats are active - there are people there. Well put.

Its true in many cases that with MMORPGs the initial influx of people at release gives a good indication of the playerbase size.... for a game that has big media coverage and advertising. Anarchy Online comes to mind here.

Saga of Ryzom hasn't had no where the media coverage of big name RPGs, so I would expect a lot of new players will come filtering in one this game starts appearing in magazines and main stream webs.

Cmon guys, this game is brand new.... ever play EQ when it was only 1 month old ? It was worse... by a lot. Take the time to enjoy the scenery. Those who level the quickest will be well rewarded with the boredom prize.
