Well the patch 1- whatever wont ever be soon enough for me, i just got gentle100 for harvest and it is a joke. to use it requires twice the focus and with it the actual effect it has on nodes exploding etc is non exsistant. might as well have ignored the entire gentle line of stanzas and stayed with agressive all the way.

But whatever... i'm off to patch wow and see how its doing, then tomorrow i'll maybe patch eq2 and do the same. Either way, i wont be playing ryzoms.

Call it a holiday, whilst the i enjoy the game alot, it is rapidly becoming the worst game in my collection, i've never grown bored of an mmo as quickly as i did of ryzoms. Be it the mobs that follow you forever or the buggy chat, guild, hud windows, or the everyone is doing the same in melee styles, or everyone is hunting the same mobs to everyone is in the same armour, which is the same colour... get the drift...

Harvesting is actually the most interesting thing in the game, simply because in its nature you have to move to a new place every 20 mins or so. The rest of the game is just the SAME. All of it. At least it is in Fyros, if i want to explore matis or zorii, i will need to make a new char, as theres no way i'll get this one out until i can solo a great kincher.

alot of things you need to wait some levels before using in harvesting due to needing better focus/regen/selfheal. You will find gentle very useful though even if its just one brick, combined with terrain and mat extracts they are great. Just hit 100 and will prolly have another 20 levels before I even consider 90 focus pulls.

just heard that people are fighting naked to protect their armour cos it wears out so quick.

thats a joke.

At the moment it seems like Nevrax are desperately trying to balance things out in this game but some things are obviously slipping thru the net. Its worth keeping in mind the end vision when adjusting these things - I doubt people taking off their armour before battle fits into that vision!

That degrading thing's due to a bug as far as i heard; should be fixed soon and you won't see naked peeps fighting anymore.

There is a post somewhere in this forum that explains the reason for the degraded.

It goes like this:

The overall item degraded is based on the lowest item off equipment within the group compared with the level of the mob being fought!

So a group with one member with a ql20 item and everyone else has ql50, fight a high level mob. The degrade rate is set by the ql20 item.

Bug/feature that gives a very negative result, the choice is yours.

It does however further discorage mixed level grouping, which depending on your point of view is a good/bad thing.

Degrades seem to effect all members of the group that take part in the fight.... so magic users your armour may not be safe even if you never get hit.


I am sure that something will change ... but who knows what?

I don't have an opinion on excessive Item Degrade rates as I have never suffered from them and therefore it would be wrong for me to express an uninformed opinion.

Item Degradation takes yor equipment Level and the Targets Level into consideration.

Thats why pure Healers wear the same armor and use the same staff for a couple of days while I burn through equipment as elemental mage. (3+ Staffs / 2+ LightArmor Sets on an average level session)
