Arispotle isn´t the navel of the world, y´know?
But, yes I know, I have tried to teach you that so often, it gets boring.
Ok, so what are the other two servers doing that Aris isn't doing? How have they changed the face of Atys to where it isn't "grind this tree" any more?
Or is it that they haven't lost as many players, including many of the high levels ones, like Aris has?

Actually it is Acridiel
If Arispotle goes, regardless of how many players exist on the other servers, I for one wont be transferring and truth be told, the population on Arispotle is incredibly low, I was in Dyron the other day and the only player I knew, was someone I knew from a different MMO. There was only one other player, who I think was sub-level 100.
First off, I totally disagree with the assumption that the community did not accept the OPs. They certainly were not ignored. I also think we did our best to make them significant and meaningful symbols within the game world. As time went on though, it became clear they had nothing to do with story line, faction or racial power in any way.
I think what caused the death of the game was, in part, due to a lack of development, vision, communication, and resources, but what killed it was not having an event team that could react and mold story lines. I may be way off, but I get the impression the event teams were hand cuffed pretty securely and unable to create or mold anything much more significant then an episode of fetch and deliver.
The senator Dios story line, did not need any development, nor did the unsolved murder of Wyler. There could have been all sorts of intrigue within any of the governments that would never need a single line of code. I have no doubt that, these ideas were put forward and most have been squashed, by someone.
I suppose it is possible that there were not enough volunteers, especially after the screams of bias and a CSR witch-hunt with a subsequent ritual burning of the event team By GF. That whole episode insured, much to the relief of many, that I will never volunteer to be a part of the event team and may have convineced GF that event teams were nothing but trouble.
I think an active story with achievable goals would keep more end gamers involved with the game much more so then any OP loot. The more involved the player can be, the more active they will be. I think as long as OPs are just loot factories and nothing more, they will continue to lose their ability to hold end gamers interest.

Gets boring hearing it too.
Maybe they're doing a better job on your server... *shocked face*(not)
I know I still hear all the time they do more events there. Certainly would be in keep with tradition, Arispotle always came last. =)

If anything in Ryzom is ruined it started when Jessica Mulligan was brought in to appease investers, game forge then finished the job.
However SoR's game world is still the best I've come across in all my years of gaming and probably will be for quite some time. Some damage has been done but I feel it can still be repaired provided the crews move in now. If the landlord can convince the tennants the foundation is solid SoR might still have a chance...
(I know I'm being server centric unfortunately I have no experience with the other servers so I can only comment on what i see...)
Machieltje (Tryker) Evolution Where am I? Who am I? Am I even here?
I don't see how the community "refused" the OP wars. We've had a lot of fun with those, and a lot of drama too (not that that's a good thing but it does keep us occupied ), and on a lot of occasions we've even tried tying RP around them and making them something of a substitute for the player-run governments we never got. (It's cluttered in drama too, but I still think parts of [thread=29032]this thread[/thread] are pure win. )
(Mind, I do often wish guilds wouldn't get so obsessive about holding on to their OP and would have more fun with battling over them, but that's a different matter. )
However, it's been over 3 years since outposts were introduced, with nothing new to them in all that time, so it's hardly surprising people get bored with them.

Incidentally that´s just it.
And you know why?
Because as far as I know, there are too few volunteers to the team to get anything going.
Sad.
Edit: But you´re right, Fiach, in way.
Arispotle should be the "representative" server, because it´s the only international server.
Let´s hope it all works out

I agree with you on this. That is when it started going down hill.
