Atys has been pretty empty from my experience. Uni chat is almost nonexistant these past few weeks. I'm not sure what is going on, but it seems like there was a mass exodus of players right around the time of the server-side patch. I don't think that had anything to do with it, since I saw no issues or remember seeing any forums posts on the topic. Even the Raw Materials Merchant is slim pickins, which is uncharacteristic of Ryzom over the past six months.

its not worth it. Community is going down. Ryzom becomes popular (too much) and this destroys this beautiful world.

Once subscription returns everything will be better.

It could be argued Praha, that the "mass exodus" improved the community and it wasnt that "mass" either :)

On saying that, I have seen a ton of old players return recently and top class ones at that, I wouldnt be inclined to use Uni chat, as an indicator, I sometimes even use Uni chat, to add people to my ignore list.

There are alot of people that use Uni chat initially when they start, but once on the mainland, they tend to confine themselves to Guild Chat.

I would certainly start a new one to relearn. I restarted on my main character when I came back and needless to say I died a lot cause had no idea what was what.

So I started a alt. Much better. I learned again and actually think I learned more this time around. I still have my main and play her now. But still pop back on my alt to recheck something before I die xxxx times

As far as uni being quiet that is a plus. now I guess I can put the tab up.
I hate missing a question from someone new if there are people on there just rambling about stuff that isn't even important then it is so easy to miss someone wanting help. Sometimes there are people on that just like to see themselves talk. Which from the warning at the time of logging in to Uni that is not what Uni channel is for.
But we have all heard that for years so nothing new.
There will always be the ones that want to babble on and on with no regard to anyone else.

But yes most certainly come back. After all like someone else said, if we all waited no one would be in game.

I always have seen someone on Silan Island. Do check out guild list also.
There are some great guilds out there and just find one that suits you.
Good luck and enjoy

Ryzom has never had a huge population, compared with other MMOs.but yea it is hard to find many peep on line these days . i think that if new content is added more will return, but unless the owners advertise,it will be hard pressed into getting a lot of 1st timers to try the game.. but in saying that , if i was you i would keep going on my 1st alt , it wont take ya long to get back into the swing of things.
