'Heal Life 1' (heal hp 1, credit range, credit sap, credit cast time)
'Life Gift 1' (heal hp 2, credit range, credit life)

even tho premade spells/actions are crap and not meant to be used in the wild, still both are needed. iirc, some upgrades just aren't available on trainer.

Hi Blaah :)

What you say is quite true of course, for example there is an upgrade gap at (I think) lv 70, which would make you wait until Lv 85 (?) for your next upgrade, but its not absolutely "needed".

But to bridge that gap, you will have to buy all the Heal Life upgrades to get that "gap upgrade".

My post is to guide Moonchant through the best skills to purchase, as he/she is finding themselves short of skill points, when it comes to upgrading.

On saying that, Moonchant, if you level for example, Healing and Offensive Magic, you will accumulate both sets of points at the Magic Trainer, so that eventually you will have more than enough points to buy everything, as some of the skills that you buy can be used by both magic trees :)

Just one thing to add to Fiachs conviction again here :p

Experiment!

Don´t be too sure about haveing only one way to level, or fight, or do magic, or whatever. One of the great pluses of Ryzom is that this isn´t that case and I must admit I´m a always a quite disappointed when Oldies like Fiach and others leave this important advise out of their explanations.

Many of their so called "useless/crap skills" can very well be used inGame if you only take the time to try and use them.
If you´d for example exclusively use "Increased Damage" + Accuracy and just would "pay" for it with the usual Stamina "cost", you´d be down in quite a few seconds and would have to regenerate quite often. In effect spoiling your fun and making you think the old "This combat system sucks" comment, we´ve all heard so often.

Try fighting with things like "attack after parry/dodge".
They will help you in keeping your stamina up quite good.

Same goes for time and distance credits in magic.
They´ll help you keep your Sap/HP.

With a bit of practice you´ll be able to do better that just whack whatever comes your way with the biggest stick and be "pumped out" after two fights.

The "aim" stanzas in my opinion could need an overhaul, but for example:
If you hits something over the head hard enough it´ll be stunned and not be able to fight back for some seconds. Just like the Kipee will stun you.
You´ll be in less danger.
So where´s the problem with aiming for the head? ;)

Just don´t be intimidated by all those skills you see at the trainers.
Try and learn, even if it means you´ll seem to have "misspent" 10 points or something.
You´ll eventually get to buy all skills, that´s correct and I´m quite sure the final "overflow" of XP points to there being some "not yet implemented" skills, we´ll hopefully get to see some day. ;)

So to us oldies, please guys and girls, if you really want Newcomers to experience the fullness and uniqueness of the system and to really enjoy it, don´t keep pointing them your way. Even if it worked for you.
They might just be looking for more ;)
Be fair, give them a chance and point out other things too.
Remember this thread?
Especially the things that make Ryzom unique and won´t turn their experience into the same old "hit it hard `till its dead" routine.

but.... but Moonchant is trying to conserve points :D

Of course what you say is correct, one of the great things about Ryzom are the skills/stanza system, Ryzom truely shows that there are so many ways to "skin a cat". :D

I think you mean ROT not ROOT. ROOT has no effect on plants, ROT is an attack designed for plants. ROOT will hold a mobile mob stationary, since plants are already staionary it has no effect.

In my opinion ROT is useful, but I am not a high lvl magic user, best take advice from those more experienced.

Thanks Zhaxor :)

OK, these can be saved until you are higher level, at low level, if you "need" to use these, then they wont be much benefit to you really.

Not quite sure what you mean by avunn etc. Im guessing this, if you mean the skills that help you regenerate stats and increase them (eg. Wisdom makes Sap regenerat faster, Intelligence increases the amount of Sap you have), yes they are very important, Constitution being of the greatest importance.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

First, thank a lot for your reply, it is helpful. Second, sorry for confusing. I just mean the actions "aura" ,for instance, "life aura power 1" "sap aura power 2"

They are generally not worth the points.
Very minor regeneration increases with a very long recharge timer.

You can pick them up later in your career when you have excess points and there's nothing else to learn ;)

The most important aura for PvE is Melee Protection Aura. It's powerful, but at lower levels still short duration with a long recharge. Keep that in mind and focus on more general use abilities first.

Thank you ,acridiel. your advice is very correct. Before palying the RYZOM, I had played the game EQ2 for 2 years, it was so funny when i found every skill is useful when i face different situation. none skill is useless ,but depends on you how to use it.
But some advice just like fiach gave me is useful also. especially to newbie. though every skill is useful , i believe somes should be learned firsrly, others later. it will help newbie to feel more easy to paly the game. so that they will love this game instead giving up.
