I'm not sure I see the big change that is expected with the return of KP's. Sure larger groups and solo diggers with multiple accounts get a nice bennie as it cuts down the competition from all those lone PR diggers who spend hours wondering around alone in PR, but all it meant to others before was digging with a heal buddy sitting in an OP or other known KP "safe spot" ready to rez after the KP happened by.

Not against KP's but the previous implementation wasn't the real "challenge" it was oft made out to be. IMO, "inconvenience" fits better as a description than "challenge".

It was the feeling they generated.

Organised patrols gave some credence to the idea that the Kitin are a significant enemy.

The excitement of trekking was greater, and for low- or mid-level groups, it was even more interesting. For solo travellers, it was thrilling and suspenseful. Sure, there were probably some people who saw kitin patrols as mere inconvenience, but those people may as well play a game where there's no aggro at all and there's a menu through which they can request immediate, free delivery of whatever item or resource they want.
