Well giving the fact that he offered no suggestions, I have to assume he wants a "Hard Kipee drops Super Duper 2 handed Slaying Sword of Doom q45"
type of loot. To me, thats just plain stupid. I must have missed the part where the kipee attacked me with his Slaying Sword of Doom or else I would have used my "Godly Sword-Stopping Shield of Invincibility" that I looted from the dangerous goari. Guess I'll go kill the Goaketh with my one time use "Scroll of Certain Death DMG 1000000000" and see if I can get the "You Win the Game This Loot is So LEET OMGOMGOMG!" off him. Unfortunately about 1000 other people already have that so I guess I won't win. :( Time to use my "Uberleetpwnager Bed of Replenishing Sleep +20" then.

While the above post is morbidly humorous ... I will agree with Yulric's statements ... pretty much dead on.

Trust me you may like it now but say in a couple months, let alone a year or two, the loot system will be the killer if it remains the same or is simply a small fix.

The system needs an overhaul. Equipment that drops on mobs should be useful in some way that doesn't involve selling for dappers or bringing to harvestors.

It can also be far more interesting. Now, tinpony, you may like it. I personally do not and I don't believe you'll get more votes in favor of the current system.

Like it or not only the fanboys praise the current system. So give me a very godo reason why I or many others who are already bored with it should like it besides. Oh I found supreme here or there. You found supreme, congratz, now how useful is that to you without having to go to a crafter?

Give me a break. The loot system sucks at this point. It needs to have alot of major changes. But cheer away; I might begin to think you are working for Nevrax.

So... based on your post, and others I've read... Fanboys are:

1. People who enjoy the game for how it is
2. Like the loot system the way it is overall
3. Don't believe any aspect of the game system is "broken" because they personally don't like it.
4. Don't attack Nevrax for every little thing they feel wrong with the game.
5. Don't predict the game's demise unless "item X", which they feel is broken (see #3) is "fixed" to suit them.
6. Understand that the game isn't perfect - that no game is - and that it all boils down to the individual, what they're looking for in a game, and if a given game provides what they're looking for.
7. Are willing to wait while Nevrax (or any game company) addresses a problem, instead of flying off the handle about it - especially when the game is newly launched.

Does that cover it?

If so, then call me a fanboy.

*whistles and a line of elephants march up behind Cerest*

These might be better suited to the task at hand. *signals for the elephants to all take a generous swig of water*

There are plenty of loot games out on the market. Many players got fed up with this type of system and have been looking for something new. There are several crafting MMORPG's on the market right now. Each is finding its way. SWG, DAoC, Eve Online, all have crafter economies.

I do think that loot can play an important part of any game. Combat type players seem to enjoy the more "heroric" style of play. Slay the dragon, get the loot. There is a fine line between destroying the crafter economy with loot, and enhancing it. Loot can be added in ways that don't compete with what crafters make.

Ryzom won't succeed or fail based on loot. There are many other promised features that will determine its future.

Here is the deal guys:

A. I don't want the Super Duper Wand of Multiple One hit Slaying.

B. I'm not asking for loot items to be more powerful than crafted items. I'm asking for a compromise between the two. Making loot useful besides just to sell for dappers or bring to crafters to make equipment.

C. Anyone who is satisfied and defends the current system is either pleased by any crap given to them or they are a fanboi.

Now here are some examples that could improve the game:

Example: Perhaps special items that can be put on equipment by a fighter to add bonuses to that equipment; NO CRAFTERS INVOLVED.

Example: Special materials, NOT Harvested, that give you +1 more mat per extraction when applied/used to make picks.

NOTE: Hey other games have something similiar; I KNOW. That doesn't make the idea a bad idea. How about this; how about critters drop NO LOOT. All MMORPGs have critters drop loot I guess this game is copying them becoming a EVERQUEST clone blah blah blah. Your arguments are absurd in terms of cloning other MMORPGs.

Because I don't like a loot system geared COMPLETELY TOWARDS CRAFTING doesn't mean I want an Everquest clone. You guys are ignorant and either pleased to easily or are hardcore fanbois.

"Anyone who is satisfied and defends the current system is either pleased by any crap given to them or they are a fanboi."

Ummmm...so if someone has a difference of opinion with you that means they are "pleased by any crap" or a "fanboi"? I happen to like crafted loot systems to dropped loot systems, personally, so that makes me a fanboi? Wow, strange that I posted a complaint about the game before if I'm a fanboi then.
