Watch out on that one. For the rest I agree. I'd rather have epic racial, factional or multi-racial crafting plans (obtainable throught rites that require fame, maybe) than pre-made gear. New bosses like a Yuboketh could be interesting to see. Bring back the honor points. Complete and implement the content that was nearly finished but never made it into the game. Make the dappers useful for something other than wasting on the silly wheel of Misfortune. Make it possible to purchase or rent more storage, or to purchase storage upgrades for appartments and GH, to have more mektoubs and have to pay the stable guy a seasonal fee to keep them fed even if you don't move them around. Make them die if they stay unfed for 2 seasons in a row.

Agree to Ani + a minor fact I noticed. After reopening of the servers Atys was crowded with lots of players old and new. But those days almost nobody is around. New players quit because of bugs and no real content, old player are on hold.

If the game goes paid mode at least the bugs should be fixed. New features would be nice aswell, but we all know the Ryzom Dev cycle... its slooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

Yes, at least the bugs should be fixed. Looks like most of them are one-liners, and if the developer team has found a way to compile the server and client code (well, have they?), many of the crashing bugs can probably be fixed with single conditional checks.

And I have to agree about new folks not finding enough in the game to keep them interested. Many of the fine new homins I met were very interested in Atys history (true, I hung around with them precisely because they were interested in lore and history), and many found themselves disappointed after a while because Atys has become static enough to look like it's stagnating (and the deadlock in OP status lately adds to it for the PvP-hungry, who find themselves deprived of an end game).

Please clarify -- as of Oct 31, 2008 -- has "Saga of Ryzom" re-opened?

Would my 5 Ryzom chars ("Arispotle" server) created in early 2006, still be in existence now?

My Ryzom chars were still active at the time of Ryzom's most recent bankruptcy, earlier this year.

Thank You,
Amphiaraus

Yes, they are. They've been back since August 1. If you didn't uninstall Ryzom, a small fixer used to be available to access the game again (url domain is down now, though). Otherwise, just grab the game off the front page and welcome back!

Shouldn't we talk about subscribing when the time comes?
I find it a bit ironic that a simple announcement about an extended free time is answered with "I would subscribe IF..."

I agree the bugs should be a priority but...you (and most of the people here) have been playing for years a game with "no real content"? o_0

New players quit because the game is not for them. New players quit every MMO all the time and that doesnt mean anything at all (i quit WoW after a month, AoC after less than a week, FF XI and City of Heroes after two days) /shrug.

That's the point, why continue to play more years if nothing will change. People wont, they will slowly be drawn out into newer more exciting things. Ryzom holds most of us here because it is a great sandbox, and there are so few of them. Yet that will not always be true, something will always come into competition for the same type of game style. It will be a matter of, will ryzom compete and keep up, to keep people happy an interested, or will they give up and stick with what they got. People tend to go for situations that give the possibility of improvement.

I dont think we ask for miraculous addons/content/new stuff, but a sign that you can dev would be good enough for me I think. So no cash from me until you fix the compass north bug :o , its not a big ask, if thats fixed (before or upon billing opening), that will give me more confidence that you actually have desire to develop and not just watch the game stagnate ala GF. Will hold off judgement until then, as none of us know your plans for this game.

You might think it's better to talk about subscriptions later. But I think the issues has been avoided far to long. And so I don't even bother to log into the game anymore to check what's going on :(

If we don't talk about subs before billing opens, how will SofaruninspiringWeb have time to fix all these damn bugs before asking for money? ;)
