The thing is, you can't abandon quests on Silan once you accept them. That's the only reason I'm still there :)

But I've got to disagree with you on the direction or lack thereof on Silan. The whole noob experience in Ryzom has been excellent. Really excellent. I've never been at a loss for what to do, as the missions lead you by the hand if you read the text and get into the spirit of the thing. The only problem I'm having with these last two missions is a) the ocyx doesn't ever seem to be around when I am, and b) the big boss mission is way above my paygrade to handle solo and I'm having trouble getting up a group (I play during the midnight hours).

Beyond that, the denizens of Silan have been very helpful and cooperative in filling in the blanks. BY FAR the best MMOG community I've ever experienced, and I've spent time in almost all of them. (I really want to emphasize that. I'm 46 years old and have at least dabbled in practically every major MMOG since UO first launched. I'm no virgin when it comes to these games, and this community is hands down the best I've ever come across. Hands down. I'm highly impressed.)

Anyway, I'll be sure and look up DCP when I hit the shores. In fact, if you're accepting members, I'd like to apply. I'm a Fyros, so I believe Pyr is my home capitol, right?

Never knew that about the quests, I left at I think lv 16 or so, but I had completed anything I had done, I felt the old starting area was more streamlined.

Yes dane, Pyr is the main Fyros city, when you get there send a /tell to one of the following, Final, Catfud, Blaze, Ignored, Shanu or Shadowbayne.

Our guild has members from age 16-50 and levels from 30-250, from many countries / timezones.

They are expecting you and will sort you out with anything you need, looking forward to meeting you ingame, but I wont be on for a few days. :)

iceaxe68 wrote:You can create an assist macro. This is pretty flexible and can be set up in different ways.

Here's what I do in my assist macros:

Command 1: Target your ally's current target by using the Actions -> Target The Entity's Current Target macro. You have to specify your ally's name.

Command 2 (Optional): Automate the action you want to use on your ally's target.

I use a variation of this for team careplanning and for nuking with a tank/puller. I do have to edit the macro to set the name of the digger or tank each time I have a new teammate. You can also create a similar macro that targets the target of your current target. (Read that three times to make sure you got it :p ) With that you have to manually target your teammate first, then hit the macro key.

Actually You dont have to manually target your teammate to target your target's target. You can actualy set up the macro to target an entity (the teammate in question), then target the current Target's Target. You can even then add the action you want to use. With spells and what not you will still have to press the spells each time you want to cast them, but with combat actions(Melee/ranged), you can press macro twice rapidly to trigger the Auto attack.

I did this all the time, and unless they made major changes to the macro system in the last year you can still do that.
here is macro setup again simplified

1: Target an Entity
2: Target Current Target's Target
3: Select shortcut Bar (just incase you happen to be on wrong bar)
4: Run Shortcut

This works for Combat and CPing, and if you really ambitious can even set it up to quickly switch from one teammate to another, but as Sasi said, you still have to change the names of the Entity when you have diffrent teammates.

Hey Dane,

Ive helped quite a few ppl find that hiding Ocx. the few that are easy to get to are at the top of the blight zone usually.

Ah, I should have known. I was giving it the teenage American pronunciation, which makes it rhyme with bee-yotch. :D

Thanks, Noxious, but I finally got it all done and have moved on to the mainland. Joined the DCP tonight, too (thanks, fiach!), and got a lot of quality help and gear. It's amazing how much money and time you can waste futzing around when you don't have good people right at hand to ask questions of. They straightened me out and showed me the error of some of my ways!

That's exactly how I originally did my assist macros, but it works the same as the 2-step macro I outlined, and adds an extra step... but either way works fine.

Setting up a macro to assist your current target without specifying a name can be convenient if you often need to switch whom you are assisting. (In a battle or hunt with a large team or multiple teams, for instance.) That's when manually targeting your ally is required.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to create macros? Or could someone explain it briefly here?
