You guys apparently did not understood the situation...
(maybe cos they did not explain it tho; so sonehow you are forgiven :) )

A little yubo told me:
- The game has not restarted yet.
- New owners had 2 choices: say nothing and keep working in the shadow (we know they are good at it) or sending invites to VIP and registered free trials to test the login, the server and the fix...
They choose to have us coming in to make the tests and to allow us to play again faster than if they were testing all in house (save cash as well)...
- Now what we see today (Silan and the cap in particular) may be very different when the game is actually open to new subscribers.. (Silan may not be there anymore and something else could replace it: no idea what th)

Knowing that, do not ask them to work on Silan, they went pretty fast in last 2 weeks and have probably lot of things to review and sort out :)

Patience Young Padawan :)

EDIT for clarification:
I am also against the 21 cap (i am caped at 21 myself) as this does not even allow me to get enough skill points to use some of the stuffs I get from quests and is far too low to really experience anything......
BUT:
Actual new players may start in a place that is not named Silan... Who knows where and who knows when.... Only the shadows know :)
Hmmm: Found one of the story that made Gillest what he is/was...
Remember the old man
Gillest was there in the first week one odd day of Sept 04 and will never leave till life makes us apart

^^ Thanks for explaining Gillest and not jumping on people like I did. I should just roll Fyros..

I haven't played much this week, I know for shame, but when the game first went up again there were a few issues.. So it's not like they are twiddling their thumbs. I imagine there's a lot more to it then we can picture.

That and I really wish they'd come out from those shadows... And maybe Silan will go bye bye and we'll get the original starter islands, but slightly revamped versions, I think I'd welcome that. Though I'd miss the option to pick the city of your choice when you get off the newbie isle.

Was that for the test right now, or the original Silan?

original silan, was only afterwards that they added in the level restrictions (not enough people subscribing or something, I guess)

I played and subscribed two different accounts a few years apart, and both times the silan was unrestricted except for getting to the mainland, and the big thing about subscribing was being allowed to get to the mainland..

When did it change to 21? 21 is reached in a day on 4 branches. 21 is not high enough to really start experiencing the power of the customizable stanza's. I have made 3 characters and capped them already.. (mostly to mix/max my skills based on the cap)

And I quote the owners:
The only restriction still applied to the free trial accounts will of course be the geographical limitation to the starter island "Ruins of Silan"

This was my understanding that it would already be in place with the "step two" event. It's not.
