...2 years :P

And I m not saying it's hopeless... just not imagining myself playing another 2 years when it happens to be really doubtful...

Sorry if I don't fall for "hard to fall for" cheer up post... So as I said in previous post : "wait and see"

*high fives saber*

I'll be here with you. Long live Atys!

[note: I am playing other games right now but only until my home is usable again. I've already taken hundreds and hundreds of screenshots - braving the lag to walk herky jerky through aggro to get to favorite places, ground out 50 craft levels standing at mat vendors and blowing nearly all my hard earned dappers - (why you guys still have mats on vendor at 9999%?), and still log in once a day or more to see how things stand.]

I thought that was, just like last year, to be held in secret.

Well it helps to research.. um.. anyhow the state of the game hasn't been decided or announced yet so its safe to assume no desired bid was made during these three week period. Thats that I meant, I'm sure. :)

Considering the chance as a guide I'll assume ryzom.org succeeds and Ryzom will end up being distributed throughout the internet with several developers launching their own versions.

If such were to happen I too would be one of the guilty developers trying my best ^.^' So yes Ryzom will survive either way but it just may not be the same. :)
I'm still sceptical that a community project could actually find the resources to buy and host such a game as ryzom. ryzom is not swgemu.

Would be great if it did - personally I would pay a pretty high subscription fee to play - but so far I have seen nothing to give me any hope that there will be an atys in a week or so.
Its pretty obvious to me that GF didnt intend to keep ryzom going - they bought it for some other reason - maybe the server architecture - efficent clustering is actually pretty difficult programming and I can see GF wanting that. The ryzom code itself and playbase are worth something, but only in the long term, and only to a company with the vision and deep pockets to want it in the first place, and run it. I would LOVE to see ryzom survive, but I don't know that it will. However I don't know French law too well (at all) - maybe the community project has a better chance than I think.

Okay, seriously, this has been driving me nuts: HOW do I take a screenshot? I want to do that too! I've got a ton of memories I have been needing to record for ages! :P

As for news:
Check up with the Free Ryzom project's forums. Since they have a hand in the bidding process, they have first hand news.

When I checked two days ago the list of assets had not even been completed by the liquidator yet, and noone was able to give me a hard cutoff date for the entire process of everything.

And yes, this /is/ a rally cry post. I don't give a farthing about cheering anyone up, I want a Cry to Action! It would certainly be lovely to have you in the game again when it's useable once more, but every hand is needed to steer this ship while the captain is being decided by the courts.

Long live Atys!

I am still playing, every day or every two days depending of school and my tiredness... and when I'm not digging the Lag out of Dyron, I'm reading the various forums : this one, the "Free Ryzom" one, my guild's one and the Atysian Refugees one. I have given up trying to find a new game to be my temporary shelter... I kept coming back on Ryzom, which, even with Lag, was more enjoyable to me than any of these places where I don't seem to fit at all.

I had a 2 weeks free trial on City of Heroes but ended up spending more time digging and reading/chatting than actually kicking some thugs butts. Atys is my home and nothing will scare me away from it, especially not the Lag monster ! In fact, that lag reminds me of my very first days on Silan when I was playing on the laptop...

*hasn't given up either* I log in just about every day too...just to look at stuff around me, cuz it's home. Granted, I haven't lagged my arse out of PR yet lol but hey, when do I ever do that?

Biding my time with a free trial at LOTR. It doesn't hold a candle to Ryzom, imo.

Shift-f10 or Ctrl-f10, depending on whether you want big fat targas or compact little jpegs. They show up in your ryzom install directory as "screenshot000.tga" by default.
