Ok, folks, now the phrase POWER TO THE PLAYERS! have the most significant mean than before. If we want to save this awesome game, we have to post in all forums that we know this horrific situation. "Yeah, but what will be the results?" still better than saying I'm giving up, "I'm off of ryzom" (Sun Ce and Nyfertiti, *smacks you hard*), that's not the spirit, do you want to broke the community? I'm talking about the community created within Ryzom, not the game itself. I'm talking about how sad i feel and how sad you feel when you saw the Marjo's post. Put in your posts these keys to succeed in profits for a company:
1) Credit bank
2) Learn from Nevrax and Gameforge's engineers
3) Open new servers in Asia, Portugal and Spain
4) Keep going the development (is not only a living planet, but a living world)
5) Do a marketing campaign at the size of crappy WoW's
6) Wait for the profits
You can't handle Ryzom, Gamforg, coz you don't know anything about business, go back to your Ogame.

Although I apprecite Borishi's co-ordinating posts; and Marjo's response to the now proven true speculation; one very serious issue remains::
Not only is the company going into liquidation; but a finite time of 3 weeks has been decided (alot quicker then Nevrax's shaky months);
Such a dramatic and serious change in the existence of this service requires an official comment outside of the business unit that is Ryzom.
There are people out there that have paid for 6 months only days / weeks before this was announced..... the questions and the community have been asking for answers for at least 2 months;
A response must be given by a representive from the parent company.
Regards

This is a very sad day ... an ugly day.
Hope someone will intervene in the next three weeks (my wet dream: CCP).
A big hug to all the GF France team.

If only one of us had a couple of million quid in our back pockets to spare on saving Ryzom's backside.
I can't see anyone getting any refunds Thom, but indeed a reboot sometime soon during this so called "free" period would be lovely. Presumably the shard hosting is paid up for a while and the Froggies are still in control of it?

What means "potential buyers"?
So Gameforge wasted one year money to do what?
I don't understand this business model.
Buying the game will means buying the code and the assets or the code will remain to GF Germany?
I don't understand.
If the code is not in GF France, who will go to buy the game?
I don't understand.
So, obviously, GF Germany bought the code, but was forced by law to run the game at least one year. They cut at the max the expenses to wait the end of year, so at the end they bought the code but not the game.
If this is true, then we got no true words for one whole year from GF Germany (i'm not pointing at GF France, ex-Nevrax, as probably they are victims as us, probably more than us).
If this is not the case, then can someone explain to me why GF germany bought Ryzom last year?

I agree with this. I'm really confused as what really happened the first time now. Right now it just looks like a failing company was bought, kept as is, with only a name change and just carried on going as before. The results, obvious. What did GF really buy! Seems like they bought nothing.
Edit: Another thing bugging me right now. Many years ago I used to help run a persistant world Neverwinter Nights mod. We had three servers always full that were set up at home, were on 24/7 and supported with DMs and constant updates which was my job. We did this off our own back with nothing more than our crappy jobs. No player paid a penny. If some hobbiests can do this, what is going so wrong at GF france, where the hell is all the money going!

If that is the case it seems they did by something and we have just been strung along until they legally could offload us all and take what they bought to do with as they wanted.

I would tend to think that Gameforge GmbH was indeed the bidder, but the events were somehow different. A subsidiary (filiale) Gameforge France SARL company was created, with a capital of 25k. This is the company that seems to have acquired Nevrax assets. And all in all seems a complicated move (e.g. The minimum liability of a GmbH is about EUR 25.000) By going backrupt, Gameforge France SARL does not have to keep ex-nevrax employees one year as it was mentioned elsewhere. Liability is controlled and GF GmbH remains untouched?
I still fail to see why did not GF GmbH acquired the assets for a bargain, e.g. acquiring a exclusive license to the source code before Gameforge France was liquidated.
The main problem now, is that the court may decide that no buyer acquires the assets and just rule the liquidation and cesation of activities.
