Very interesting idea :)

a simple spread sheet would soon make things much easier with regards to that.

As for guilds listing their members, a little ott imo, i personally would trust a simple *rough* headcount. though id rather try and avoid over complicating things. Guild numbers can change quite often though.

Decimals are very easy to do with cats, since they go into thousandths

What I want is not really that relevant to how the plan is setup. I just stated what I would prefer to see. I feel that the need that should be addressed is for those who have no way to get the PvP based materials, meaning players who do not participate in PvP have a way to access OP materials without having to beg. Soldiers and combatants should be supported by the group they fight for.

I think it is impossible to separate armies and politics. I do not think the goal should be to find nonbias players or appropriate checks and balances. I think the goal should be to set up a program where bias does not matter. When leaders are in charge of weapons expecting them not to use them is only going to lead to disappointment.

Is the purpose to get OP goodies to as many players as possible or is the purpose to get OP goodies to those who can not get them? I am concerned that if to many players are able to get the goodies by doing nothing that is exactly what they will do.

I would propose that before the project gets designed it has a "purpose and need" defined. That way someone can look back and say..."oops, we are drifting" lets try and get back on course.

Perhaps it would be possible to have two lists of recipients, that way more support can be brought in. It really does seem to me that many of you are actually trying to run off people who would like to find a way to help.

the community op program was around for a while and from what ive seen it didnt cause that effect. it may eventually happen but it didnt in what 2 years?
quote from jared96
"In Ryzom, any advantage is reinforced over time. An advantage in 250 cats means one side can bring it's recruits to full strength in a much shorter amount of time. If we as little street kids could figure out a way to make their games more balanced, challenging and fun....I would think that a game company or even the players themsleves could come up with an idea or two."

a good start, a few things could be done better, I'll support and help out in a plan like this. I'd like to talk to you about this a little after I get home from work when I have some free time.

Anything wich involves benefits to players who are not part of 'a side" is detrimental to 'a sides war efforts'

This goes for any alliance. Kami/Kara/Trytonists ( :O )

The only goal is to allow those without to end up with - regardless of race or religion - and in doing so bring back some of the friendliness and kindness that apparently existed long ago

There are much greater possibility's beyond Cats/Op mats.
Though going into them now would be pointless at such an 'early' stage.

And of course this "community" will obviously not target other "communities" that do not pay them off. You know, like the last "community" project. In short, this sounds like nothing more then creating another alliance that is hiding behind the ideals of charity and social justice.

I am only requesting that you consider creating a subgroup/way so that those of us who play the game the way it was designed, as a factional conflict, can participate.

Well it may have been designed as a factional conflict game...but I think we all agree the better days of this game happened when the faction conflict didn't really mean anything. The state of relationships between everyone at the moment is very poor at best. The game is, as it is now, and nothing will change the Kara/Kami conflict all that much. This idea however might bring a little nicety, a little friendliness back here. I don't think you need to worry too much Pero, the problems you are suggesting are a very very long way away and I don't think this project will do any harm, certainly not in the short term, probably not in the long run. Let's see what happens first and not make any predictions on something that hasn't even started yet.

and an "equal opportunities" policy in that the "main" toons of the HOs will be 50/50 Kara/Kami (where possible)
What about neutrals? Just curious, not trying to be a grimjim.
Jelathnia, Kasarinia, KianShi, Maethro, ShuaLi, and OPaxie (Arispotle)
TeiJeng (Leanon)

They would count as 50/50 :)

ie 2 kara 2 kami 2 nuetrals = 50/50 split Kami/Kara
