Beau keep doing what your doing i think its great personnaly and don't see your views or opinions as anything but neutral and that would have been the case had you stayed a member of any guild regardless of faction.
maybe you should join a kami guild to balance your prespective out a little ;)
i don't regard your podcasts any anything but entertainment personnaly and would speculate your reason to put so much time and effort into making the podcasts is that simply u enjoying doing them and also as a expression of the game you enjoy playing.

Facts are though regarding faction war well its a war and there are many weapons mighter than the sword indeed and its little suprise that some seek to use all these weapons in a bid to win the war, but as a person u have a choice and in that choice is the beauty and freedom of ryzom as a game and a community.
I choose to engage in the faction battle which gives as much frustration as entertainment but also has its own rewards and is a nice change from the usual daily ryzom life, 2hrs of intense pvp is a blast for me and lots of others.

As a mature person i am sure you will make your own decisions on other players by purely your contact with them and the opinions of others should make no difference to that, it sure does not for me.

little thing to add about the sunce segement, no one can deny he is at least good entertainment and for me his segment raised his standing in my eyes,

anyway keep up the good work you have barely scratched the surface of life in atys there is still plenty to be seen and reported on.

regards
Harv

Wow guys, thanks for all the kind words. I guess I maybe just vented a little. Again, the community made me feel like I was home.

Its not factionist or prejudice, but the games overall style i think determines what faction you play. Having played and seen both factions, ive seen many who wont speak to you since you are an X or XY.

at the end of the day, i listened to the advice and didnt regret it, and yeah still get harassed for once being karavan free tryker, but i have seen the light.

Personnally I chose to ignore your pimping of BM as a guild as i ignore people that bump guilds in the guild section once a week, but still enjoyed your podcasts, although havnt listened to the last 6 or so. BM is a good community guild, probably the reason you joined them, no disputing that. but its like doing a podcast and declaring that hershy or cadbury are the best, people are going to object at that statement, especially if religion is involved.

can we kill ma duk and jena in a double suicide pls devs :)

I was lucky enough to start Ryzom when we were all happy tree huggin homins, regardless of race or creed.

Now I find it awkward-ish having friends on both sides of the "conflict", but IMO everyone should be treated with respect, regardless of the faction to which they belong .

The fact that someone whinged about Sunce being on the show and decided to throw their toys out of the pram, says alot more about them, than you or Sunce.

Sunce is a character who takes an active part in the drama of Ryzom and is a valid interviewee, in my opinion.

Keep up the good work, dont sweat the petty things and dont pet the sweatty things and you should be fine :)

/tar Beau, /cheer

You're doing a great job Beau, I love most of the podcasts (just not that one where you started ranting about the dev thingies :p , but sorta forget what it was all about, so dont worry).

And I loved it in the first podcasts you were so happy about your guild, and ryzom, and all the things you were doing... I couldnt stop thinking about how I feeled, being in newbie so long ago. Sometimes I very much miss that feeling. That everything you see is new and exciting.

And yeah you made mistakes every now and then, but you clearly say in almost every podcast that your a pretty new player (not so new anymore now tho :p ) so mistakes are normal and perfectly ok.

And I admit sometimes I thought: "damn, to much kara voices on there", but then was my immediate answer to myself: "you lazy *******, make a recording from the Kami side then" :D I dont care which guild you're in, or what side your on, if we arent happy with what you do, we can always send in something ourselfs, at least thats how I think about it :p

Anyway, this post was supposed to be only the very first line... I'll just stop here

I may be a bit slow on the uptake but it shouldnt matter what people think, everyones a critic, right?
(sorry if this seems a bit presumptious) Ultimatly you acheive what you want to acheive by having the podcast, you get people listening, talking, thinking and experimenting more while in ryzom. The way i see it is, if people chose not to listen then they lose out. The ryzom podcast is WAY more interesting that plain old music. ;)
you dont strike me as the type to giveacrap if a couple of people are narrow minded :)

Well, there isnt much, if anything I can add to what has all ready been said.

This isnt the first time some one has felt attacked as a result of somthing they did (wont mention names...but peeps have even been driven from the game bacause of this kind of behaviour)

You do a great job with your pod casts :) And as far as I can see, you should just say to hell with the negatives you recieve...as the posative feed back you usually get, far out ways the opinions of these few.

As all ready said above...no one is forced to listen to the whole show, we can simply choose to skip through the parts that may not hold interest for us. So to those who dont like a part of the show...the sugestion has been made...dont listen to what you dont like.

And to Beau...keep doing what your doing :)

All actions you take including doing nothing and leaving the game, have factional consequences, dear Beau. You're way too clever to confound this whis being a factional activist.
Trust your own reasoning and go ahead.

You could be worried about saying too many times "you know" but never that you chose this or that player sequence in your podcast :)

The Only thing I can say, is a Big Nelson Munz: "HA, HA!"
to all those who´re freaked out over the factions thing and lack the comon sense to see beyond these distinctions.
There are enough people out there who think I´m a jerk, so what?
I tend to not like some specific people too, so what?
But it´s not just because they´re Kami/Karavan. *LOL*

To take it that far and not like persons because they are on the "other side" of a game, is essentially the same as "not liking" you opponent after a game of chess, chekkers, or whatever you just lost.
I´m sure most of us did cry: "I won´t play with you anymore." as children, after somebody beat them in whatever game you happend to play.
Anybody who´s not grown out of this behaviour by at least 20 years, is simply a very, very sad human being.
And being afraid of somone, or not wanting anything to do with someone, just because he´s on the "other side", well...
Intolerance is as human a trait, as it gets, sadly.

It´s hard to ignore such people, as they are mostly a pretty obnoxious lot, but we can try. ;)
(and maybe be even more obnoxious :p )

Beaut Keep up the good work man!!!
Please do not listen to people who get too riled up about factions. At the end of the day, we are all here to have a good time and i think all people should remmember that it is not only Ryzom as the game itself (which dont get me wrong is an amazing game), but its the comunity that keeps us coming back. And sometimes we do get so engrossed in the game that we forget to think outside of this beatifull sandbox.
And i think every one of us has to stop and think a moment outside of the box before accusing someone else of pro/anti neutral/kami/kara subversion, propaganda, affiliation or whatever else.
You try to bring us something special from your own unique perspective, and through you own experiences in the game. If someone says that you shoudlnt have advertised ballistix mystix guild because they are pro kara...to them i say why shouldnt you? you had nothing but good things from them and if some non kara players wouldnt like to hear it, its your podcast and you are just expressing your views that come from your hands on experience with the guild. and as you stated yourself numerous times, anyone can voice their opinion on your podcasts.
Same goes for Sunce. (im too tired to reffer everyone to your comments in podcasts regarding your experience with him and finding him a decent guy)

I guess what im trying to say is: we are all human beings that can work inside the box and outside of it. so lets use this ability sometimes.
And peeps if you dont like something regarding podcast you can
a) skip the segment
b) send your opinion to be aired on the next one
or
c) start your own one and stop making life difficult for people who are spending their own time, trying their best to bring quality content, for free to a comunity.
And to those suspicious individualls who might see this as pro kara or pro Sunce post: My only toon is Kamist and will never turn Kara. ive never met Sunce, have no idea who he is (apart from his forum posts) and i dont really care or want to know about his pvp activities.
But what this post is. It is a PRO BEAU POST!!!
*rants end*
Just my 100.00 euro...or was it suppose to be 2 cents? ;)
