Yes it was nice playing on Cho. I wont be playing anymore either. Take care everyone, was a great game, shame about the way we have been treated.

Its not like you were abused or anything. Worse things can definitely happen (any and all ex-SWG players are well aware of that), and I hardly see a server merge, and a supposed lack of events as reasons to quit. But meh, it's your $15 a month after-all
Good luck with all your future endeavors.

I was going to say sad but maybe necessary until I read the news itself..
Phoenix down to open a new server ?????
What is the point in closing a server if it is to open another one after? ....
Or maybe I miss the point or it hasn't been properly explained.
-----------------------
They could has well just change the name and leave them Cho player in peace: new server, I imagine, would be to bring new ppl in; I don't see CHo players having anything against that.
Or maybe is it a new German server?

From another thread:

Need a picture about communication guys?
Or maybe address of a communication agency?
The more the time goes and the more I am under the impression that nothing has changed over the takeover...
In my trade, as a new Head of company (Unit manager) we use the saying:
"90 days of novelty grace" (bad translation):
for around 3 months, most people will be happy to see something/someone new coming and be full of expectations.. After 3 months, novelty wears off and they start scrutinising you (Spelling).
Your 90 days are over GF, better hurry to show us results other than a patcher which has never been used and some revamped old projects labelled as new with no deadline for implementation....

Nice timing on it, I'd taken a little break from the game anyway and now it's just longer then a break. Good luck and bye to anyone from Cho, wether they make the switch to Ari or not.

Sorry about your shard, journeymen (journeyeers?). There's definately room for you on Arispotle. You are very welcome! And needed!
But like Gillest says, the announcement is a tad cryptic.

and Cho will be reborn a few weeks later under another name to welcome a new community.
A new community... is that a different community? Will it mean that Ryzom launches in another language or the new server will have a a different ruleset (like no PVP). To just make another Cho seems pointless.

Sorry about the loss of your shard, Cho players. You had your reasons for being there and not being on Arispotle. But the worst thing isn't the prospect of losing your outposts, or of coexisting with Arispotle's population...the worst thing is that you may partially lose the community that you formed on Cho. But GameForge hasn't destroyed that community. You would, by choosing to leave. You all have control over your reactions, even moreso than GameForge has control over their actions. The financial survival of Ryzom surely played a large part in their choice to merge Cho into Arispotle. The game isn't over unless you decide it is over for you. But in doing so you also decide it's over for the people who stay or leave based on what the other members of their community do. I am sincerely saddened that some of you have promptly decided to drop everything and reduce your community. I would've welcomed seeing you stay and become part of Arispotle. To those who are indeed staying, I give you a *huggle.*

Claims about saving money should be thrown in the garbage can -- after all, they've said they're bringing Cho back up rebranded -- so running costs will continue to be incurred. What I suspect will happen (or has been happening, behind closed doors) is what Ulani (Cloudy) suggested: new server will be in a different language. As to whether it will be german, who knows, but I am speculating that if they want to make money, they might have translated things into an asian language...namely Korean. As I said, this is speculation, but there is more to be gained for Gameforge from opening up the game to the Korean market than there is to keeping two english servers when both have dwindling populations.
As for people moving to Aris...I am very sorry you guys have lost your home, and I hope you will want to be part of our community. Kami on our server often complain because they are outnumbered by Karavan...well, things are about to change, I think.
Still, let's look on the bright side -- at least we can still play the game
