Agreed, Karm and DT, both. I've stayed a long time and tried what I could. Time for me to go to Elysian pastures, I hope, and let new blood flourish.
I'm not playing anymore, I only leave the darkmoor to help in attempts to reastablish a balance between the forces. Maybe I will play again in the future, but I really doubt it. Since there are no longer any Darkmoor Rangers online regularily, there is no need for them being listed any longer as a guild. The last active guild member left for Leanon.
I know what you mean Jamela. The new crowd, while a good thing, just isn't the same. More and more I am asked about the PvP in the game from newbies than anything else. More and more I am asked which faction is best. A lot of the new players never even seem to realize there is actual lore to every aspect of Ryzom. More and more this depresses me, depresses Keiko. More and more I search for a reason to stick around.jamela wrote:Agreed, Karm and DT, both. I've stayed a long time and tried what I could. And the attitude that has developed has pushed a lot of us away
Very wise words, and if those who made the game what it was leave and let it fall to this "new crowd" it is like suburban people leaving their neighbourhood because some colored family moved in. (No offense here, just a statement.)odofitzg wrote:Jamela -- I was talking this afternoon about the great division that the OP have created and I said something to the effect of "The posturing of the Cults has taken over." He pointed out that it wasn't the Cults that were posturing; the Kami have their own agenda and are following it, and so do the Karavan. It is the Alliances that are posturing and turning the game into a giant "capture the flag" operation.
As a homin newly come to the lands, I have many questions about both Kami and Karavan, and I wonder. Where are those who wonder as well? Where are those who seek our lost knowledge?
Not all the "new crowd" came to this game hoping for "capture the flag". At least in my case ((ooc)) I came because of the lore, and want to explore it.
((On the other hand, I am not a typical mmo gamer under any circumstances.))
-- best, Odo.
I can tell you the few young homins we did get to join MoV these past 6 months all left no later than 1 month after joining.acridiel wrote:Very wise words, and if those who made the game what it was leave and let it fall to this "new crowd" it is like suburban people leaving their neighbourhood because some colored family moved in. If you are not willing to help trying to keep the game what it is and to educate new players in the "old ways" of playing, well... then you are just as to blame for changing the game as they are, for you are abandoning it to the whims of those who never learned any better.
Try to be tolerant, try to explain to them taht there is more to any game then just "capture the flag."
For the sake of the game, do something and keep your heads held high against the tide of ignorance if it is oh so bad.
Do something, but don´t abandon us.
