After all if outposts were not desirable there would be no point in fighting over them.
there is so much potenial for outpost rewards that no not alter the rate of lvling, drill can dig grind mats, more of the outpost mats, unique crafting plans, sooo much more stuff i could think of

my Idea for Cats would be ,that we still get them at the Kami/Karavan Temple with Honor points ,lets say with Missions ,we go to the temple ,we make missions and with the missions we earn Honor Points and with these Points everyone can buy his own cats when he/she wants some

the Points should be so

Q250 stack 250 points
Q200 stack 200 points
Q150 stack 150 points
....
...

a mission in a blue zone gives 5 points(per missions)
a mission in a yellow zone gives 10 points(per Mission)
....
....
.... and so on

so when anybody want cats ,then he need to do missions to gain points and later to buy Cats from the temples

the Op´s should be a extra GH for Guilds or something ,with an own Stable and a Merchant to sell and storage stuff and the Op should have an Extra TP for Guildies to port to their OP.

this is my Opinion

Some great ideas here so far.

Wondermats or kitin larvae is an excellent idea. Though it *might* be seen as an XP boost for the crafting trees...after all, the real limit on craft XP is the amount of available mats.

Honor points for cats....another great idea.

I hate the concept of cats, leveling is such a grind that messing around with xp gains really gets people grumpy and that includes me. I hope they just make cat xp gain the standard and get rid of the damn things all together.

I say have them accessible to everyone through different styles of play or remove them completely from the game.

Re: levelling speed, perhaps have cats only useable in crafting, which is really the one boring grind. clickclickclickclickclickclick. fill slots clickclickclickclickclick . The others some will argue are boring too but at least foraging/magic/ fight all have elements of skill, danger and teamwork to name but a few.

At first thought I like your suggestion of generic mats from drills, Doubletap. Thinking again, it seems to benefit only the crafting tree, while experience catalysts are comparably "skill tree generic" produce. I still like the idea because crafting is the mouse wearing grind, and despite the facts that craft levels require about half the experience of all the other trees (which I admit is purely arbitrary and irrelevant, but still curiously anomalous) and have no 3k point cap for successful actions.

The nexii ought to dry up, and I love Riveit's suggestion in another thread for popping new sources (outposts) as they do so.

*cough* What do the Kami have to say about bores and trepans, is their tolerance now entirely boundless?

Hello. My name is Mithur, and I'm a Cat addict.

(everybody) Hello, Mithur!

I have a happy family, a work I love and a lovely girlfriend. I love be busy with all this things.

(an addict)Sorry, Mithur
(another Addict) Yeah, we understand you

I envy a lot that people with a poor social life, who hasn't a girlfriend in all his life, and without a job. They cand grind 12 hour per day and no need cats.

(The first addict) Sure, they are lucky boys

I can play a few hours per week, maybe 12, the last week was 3 hours. Is really hard level to me. I know that the answer is: That's not our fault. In all games that happens.
But, in this game, with cats, it goes a little better. So, witch I propose:

If you want to limit cats, limit it to 8-10 stacks per week or so. In that way, the cats will not be so necessary, and the people with few time to play will be able to level a little faster than the people who have hours and hours. Just as a little incentive. I've need 8 months to get my melee to 210. If I didn't had cats, it had be a hell, and probably I've left the game. And, surely, there are a lot of people like me in the same place, surely that's the reason they introduced cats.

Just give a think to that.

A lot of nice ideas, but since OPs and cats as rewards have been around for over a year now, the whole server population is now unbalanced. So that means if the stronger faction wants to have all OPs, they will get them. And since there is no new content in game to keep hi level veterans interested, they will.
Even if the OPs were removed from the game and other content would be introduced, the disbalance is there and will be very hard to fix.

I fought using cats for ages. They always seemed a bit like cheating to me. I've never been a level-chaser, but recently had a need to quickly level some crafting skills. So I gave in and started burning through cats. I honestly wish that they weren't in the game, but if they're here I'm going to use them. <shrug>

I think that the idea of Wondermats is a good one. I've missed Supreme Kitin Larvae and it would certainly make more sense that an outpost would mine better quality materials than these magical Catalysers.

I might even take it one step further and say that an outpost should produce one or two materials with excellent/supreme attributes. That way it would keep trade flowing between OPs and avoid making foragers redundant.
